HOW TO ADVERTISE HERE - IT'S FREE
SUBMIT LINKS TO YOUR SITE - EXMPLE HERE
This one is simple: Create a user and log in. From front page, top left, submit a 
Web link - Depending of the current state of the site (we tend to change the appearance regularly) your links will show up all sorts of places.
SUBMIT A STRAIGHT UP AD IN THE FORUM - EXAMPLE HERE
Again, just log in, and then from the front page, top left, chose 
Forum topic Chose the forum named "Advertizing" (Yes, it is spelled like that in there for some reason ;), and place your ad. You can include pictures, links and video - knock yourself out. Anything entered here will show as a link to the front page among other lists and it will re-appear if it has caught the interest of the other members.
COMPONENTS - EXAMPLE HERE
You can submit your products as "components" on LMR. Simply log in, and click 
Component from the top left menu on the front page. Another way is to let us tap into your entire (or a selection of your) catalogue, and we will automatically update when your website does. Including price, picture and everything. No matter which way you enter your components, they will be searchable, collectable, show up on "Recent activity" and much more. Contact us if you would like us to tap into your components database.
SUBMIT TIPS / WALKTHROUGHS - EXAMPLE HERE
This is a method that takes some work from you and you need to be able to sense what is actually informative, rather than just blessing. And if you cannot find this balance, you are likely to be thrown out. However, if you manage, it can be the most rewarding method. Even give you street credit! :) What you do, is simply to put yourself in the chair of any "ordinary" member, and with your expertise on your product, you submit tips on how to use it/them. Log in, top left of front page: 
Tip or walk through
An even more rewarding, and also more demanding method is to join in to the site completely; Behave nice, submit robots and stuff, take part of the dialogue, get a feeling for what is of peoples interest in your range of products and submit stuff to assist. Some vendors even take it as far as to develop custom products on users demand.
COMPETITIONS
Let us just kill this one off; If you make a competition, you are sure to use a lot of energy on managing it, and you have to throw out a lot of prizes for it to be interesting. Plus you cannot choose who should enter, so - depending on your setup - you risk that all sorts of lame people are to be chosen to be your ambassadors. And people will only love you as long as you keep giving away free stuff.
Sure, you can make competitions on this site, but from a business perspective, it is not recommended. We know the business, and it is just not as good an idea for you as reviews, which is why we invented them, see below.
REVIEWS - EXAMPLE HERE
A new, and very promising initiative on LMR, is "Reviews" . You can in fact have your newest gadget placed on the front page of the site, included in a nice article, and be sure to get a lot of attention.. for the cost of one sample. And even small gadgets and parts apply (opposed to competitions, where you have to have tons of grand prizes to get the same attention). Read more on how to get reviews of your stuff here.
MAKE A DEAL WITH US
If you run a business, and would like to give our members benefits, contact fritsl - we are usually ready to be doing a deal, as long as it is smething that is good for our members, the future of our site, and you. An example could be a 5+5% deal; You accept the promotion code "ALABTU", and when people buy from you and enter this code, you give the member 5% off in discount, and save another 5% to the development of letsmakerobots.com - that should be good for all of us :) And we are open for any similar, or any other creative deals :)
WHY WE WANT TO PROMOTE YOUR SALES
Letsmakerobots.com (in short: LMR) is the worlds biggest community of robot builders. This means that we have a lot of traffic, and a huge member database - 100% potential costumers. Therefore many people and companies are interested in advertising, building Google ranks, and simply harvest traffic from us.
We do not have a problem with that: The robot building community on planet Earth stretches far beyond this site, and without vendors, shops and manufacturers to develop, produce and sell cool stuff we would just sit here and glue little imaginative robots out of sticks and paper. So we want to promote your sales.
However, we want to keep this website free of "regular" ads, because we don't like irelevant content and ugly messages, simple as that. And because we run it ourselves, and pay for it ourselves, we can offer you advertising space for free, just as the site in general is offered for free to all members and hangarounds.
We get a little commission from a deal on the "Start Here" project, see top menu, and now and then we make deals with vendors, but that is all. It hardly covers hosting. We could do more like this, and perhaps we will one day, but it is a matter of spending time on the fun parts for us.
Oh - and spammers; Don't waste your time: We run a spam free site, all members can delete spam instantly, and they do. A spamming message is on average on air for just 20 seconds before wiped!
