LMR-o-Scope

LMR on an oscilloscope.

I used Chris Meighan's ScopeShapes program to drive my oscilloscope from my PC sound card.

The program was loaded with a DXF file created by Armin Müller's eleFont program.

This was a fun day!

Yellow Drum Machine DAGU version

DAGU has asked me to make a prototype of a Yellow Drum Machine-kind of project. Thanks OddBot and Jklug80 for bringing this on ;)

Actually I was trying to make a robot that would carry a camera and take pictures of it self and stuff.. and these days I only have just about 30 minutes of spare time every day to build.. and logging in to LMR often takes that time, so I had to drop all other projects to be doing this.

Nobody's perfect, least of all me.  Here I intend to record some of my roboting mistakes for my own good.  Perhaps you can learn from my errors, or even contribute your own.

Latest Update: 2010-02-04

Dual Ultrasonic sensor

For my next "top secret" robot project I need 2 ultrasonic sensors. Playing around with the Maxbotix MaxSonar EZ1, which perfectly matches in size for this task, I stumbled across the following problem.

What to do with the big motor driver?

2.9.2010, past midnight

Lots of Ideas have been flying trough my mind since I got the motor driver ready.

I am now thinking of making something like this, only a bit bigger.

BarkTrak Trailer sugestions help

Hi All,

I've been busy with my robot recently. I've rebuilt the voltage regulator, added a battery monitor all situated on the newly fitted expansion boards on the rear. The battery is now housed in the battery housing (Great place to house it really.)

I've also revisited my loft and found BigTrak's trailer.

Thinking about entering Trinity College Fire-Fighting Contest

     The Trinity College Fire-Fighting Contest is the closest competition (to me) I know about, has anyone else considered entering?   In about a month registration opens and I was thinking of entering this year.  (definitely will enter next year)

There home page is:  http://www.trincoll.edu/events/robot/

And the rules are here : http://www.trincoll.edu/events/robot/Rules/default.asp

The things I need to figure out are:

Leo's LiteCar

It's really not easy for me to start,but I am here!
I'm so happy to find this great place,with so many funny friend and robot!
This is my first project from last years which called “LiteCar” , I wish to program my LC running without Delay(); Feeling with a Light Sensor and Fighting with a "Laser Gun".

Project plan:
1,moving action(WASD) by Computer Operator
2,recording its absolute position
3,feedback and maybe some PID? or Balance Filter?
4,Automode:moving by some prepared positions
5,add some other sensor or what else...

Robot Betty9 is ALIVE

My robot betty9 is really cool. I built her over several years. She sings at the Riverside Robot Expo.Robot Betty9 - humanoid

Rocket Brand Studios/ CtC Update

Hey guys,

It has been a whirlwind around here for quite a while... Ever since Maker, it has been non-stop (and wonderfully exhausting).

I thought I would take a quick moment to record a video and let you guys in on the chaos and upcoming goodness.

Shout Box talking RPi: Trials and tribulations

A nice perk of LMR is the Shout Box, LMR's own little chat room. Many times I've been struck by motivation to solder/etch/hotglue/bodge something just through the good maker-mind energy in the SB but, alas, I would have to hang up the phone, if you will, if I were to head to the workbench. "Gee," I thought, "wouldn't it be awesome to have the Shout Box read to me so I can laugh and cry and work on a project all at once?" Yes, and it is awesome.

Sticky, born to disappear :)

As my 4WD slowly evolves, I wanted to think on my next platform.

One of the form that fascinate me is hexapod robots. They quite always looks organics in their moves and it seems that they can be easier to build than full crazy out of price humanoids ;)

A simple HTTP communication protocol between wifi and Arduino

How to let the sensed data (e.g., temperature) on the Arduino send to the remote server?

The following code is used to realize this function.

void setup()

{

 Serial.begin(115200);

}

void loop()

{

   int n=analogRead(A0);

   float vol=n*(5.0/1023*100);

   upload_sensor(vol);

   delay(5000);

}

void upload_sensor(float vol)

     // send the HTTP PUT request:

     char buf[200];
