Does anyone have any experience controlling their robot over the internet (not lan) via a webcam?

I'm trying to find some open-soruce code.  Preferabbly not C, but anything else would be managable. 

Wireless Nunchuk picaxe interfacing

Does anybody have any experiences of connecting wireless nunchuk to picaxe. I am working on this and can't find anybody who has tried it. Many people have succesfully made it with arduino (and many have had problems). I try to modify attached BASIC code according to arduino codes.( different nunchuks need different codes).

Could some of you multitalented arduino/picaxe gurus help me to figure out how to modify the code? Michael Dreher-a pioneer on this hack- has listed the needed steps(http://www.windmeadow.com/node/42):

I remember in my early days struggling with basic on my commodore 64 and what fun it gave me to finally produce a basic game - akin now to struggling with BASIC for the STAMP.

How to get an Arduino Uno + Rover 5 up and running


I first touched an Arduino last November.  Come Christmas, Santa left a 4-motor Rover 5 under the tree for me and the kids.  As far as I can tell I can't just hook this up to an arduino board, but need to have additional controllers.  What is the best way of doing this?

[I have an Arduino Uno.  Will the Rover 5 work with a Uno?]

What's the easiest way to get it running? Should I be buying a Dagu 4 channel motor controller?  Would that get me there? Someone mentioned the Pololu TB6612FNG Dual Motor Driver Carrier.


Different buttons for different loops, building wired control

Hi everyone.
Im new into this arduino programing and i totaly love it!
Im building a realy simple 3 servo hexapod walker. All the building is completed and im able to program it to do different thing for example walk forward, or turn.

Sharp IR problems,,,

Even though i finished my SHR months ago, building this new one with my little bro is causing all sorts of headaches! My problem now is the IR sensor No matter what pin it is reading from it only ever reads out 134 or 127 randomly. I dont own a multimeter so I have no real wat to test the picaxe board. Any thoughts?

Lets Make Robots or Lets Make Radars?

A while back I notice the simularity between the Ultrasound/IR sensors we use on robots for object avoidance to the concept of basic RADAR. (This is more like UDAR or IRDAR). Direction and range information are what the controller uses to detect objects (RADARs basically use the same information.)

So instead of building robots for a while I decided to see how good I could make my own IRDAR. Wow! One can adjust trigger point, gain and a bunch of other factors and have a way-cool little system!


can anybody help me with my project? im using Arduino for my mcu. does anybody have a prototype picture? thanks.

Wire and Servo Connectors


I am currently am ordering parts for robot #2.  As robot #1 is a nest of wiring, this time I want to use cables that have 2 or 3 conductors and use the connectors normally used on servos.

This has leads to two questions which are:

Is there some reason to choose "twisted" wires (2 or 3 wires wrapped around each other) over flat ribbons (2 or 3 wires side by side)?

Programming Language

Greetings all.

I am hoping to get some pointers for a long term project that I am undertaking. I would like to create an interactive "head", similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vG65xL1aNg

I am planning on using Ardunio devices to control the servo's, and buying a "text-to-speech" program for the voice.

My question is, what programming language would you recommend that I build the interactive software taking users inputs, and creating responses? C? C#? Similar?

LIDAR Lite Development

Rather pricey but if it can provide better scanning capability over the ultrasonic sensors it might be fun to use. Any one heard about this?
