Student Bacteria
We collected it ourselves, from local students. (Just a little joke, teachers.) What we have here is bacteria-experiment kit for classroom use with (2) 200ml bottles of prepared nutrient agar, (20) sterile Petri dishes, (10) sterile swabs, and (4) instruction sheets. Made for individual experiments or for use with (4) groups of up to (6) students. Use it to test common surfaces, do clean hands/dirty hands or clean mouth/dirty mouth tests of soap and mouthwash, or compare students' mouths to a dog's mouth, if you have a dog handy.

Float Like A (Graphite) Butterfly
Physics faculty alert: It's very small, but teaches a powerful lesson, this little diamagnetic-properties demo kit. You get (4) plated magnets, each 1/4" square x 3/32", and (2) 1/4" square pieces of graphite to float above them. The graphite may have slight chips along the edge but that won't affect the effect. A litter of tiny pink pigs, eensie elephants, or formally dressed penguins awaits you. Nicely detailed in solid rubber, they’re all approx 1” long (or tall). The (12) pigs in the pack are perfect for populating your toy barnyard, replacing houses in your Farmopoly set, or tracking Congressional pork projects. The (8) elephants make a nice home zoo, a Hannibalian motor pool, or GOP party favors. The (8) penguins look particularly cute marching along on parade, although we think that getting (80) of them for under 30 bucks is a bargain way to make your own penguin movie. And they’d all string along nicely for animal-jewelry designers. (Careful with the toddlers—these are eminently swallow-able.)

Letters To Go
Call it the fussbudget's traveling label kit. This small plastic stencil is just 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" but has the full uppercase alphabet in a 1/4" sans serif font, plus numbers 0 to 9, a backslash, and a dash. And you get a pack of (10), so you can share them with (9) other fussbudgets, or your art class.

Switch Hitter
This very nice switching power supply, originally for a microscope illuminator, works well with a halogen lamp. It puts out between 1.2VDC and 5.8VDC up to 5A, and is variable through a potentiometer. Input is 120VAC through a female IEC plug (think computer plugs), output is through an insulated double white lead coming off the PC board and terminating in a 2-pin lamp socket. The board and bracket measure 5-3/4" x 3-1/8" and need at least 2" clearance on top. You'll need to provide a case. Made by Futaba. UL/CSA.
