Let's Make Robots!

To extend the idea for a place to share CAD files, LMR now has this forum specifically for the purpose. Please keep your posts on-topic.

To attach a CAD library to a post, please wrap your files up in a .zip or .tar.gz archive. Rather than adding potentially dozens of file extensions to the "allowed" list, this will make it less likely to forget some.

This post will be updated with more intelligent information, because I don't have a clue what I'm talking about when it comes to CAD.

what about 3D drawings for 3D printing?

I'd prefer if we can use the solidworks or step file format, since they seem to be the most compatable. I don't see any reason to upload fasteners, such as bolts, nuts, etc when we can get cad files for those at www.mcmaster.com

I like it! I will start adding some of my files probably tomorrow. All of my files are 3D solid models of components that will be described by the .zip file they are in. To use any files here you will need either SolidWorks 2009 or the student version of AutoDesk Inventor 2010 which you can use free for a year. You can view the files by downloading the free eDrawings viewer.
