1381 suppliers or alternatives

Hi,

I wanted to build simple photovore BEAM bot, but i just can't seem to find any of the Panasonic MD13812-C-ND IC's what the circuits call for!

Does anyone know of...

A) a UK supplier of these, i would happily but a bulk quantity if necessary.

B) an alternative part which can be used in it's place?

I know very little about electronics, and was hoping to use these bots as a starting point as my son finds them really interesting.  Any help anyone can give would be very gratefully recieved, he's only 6 and really wants to build one!  all the other parts were easy to source!
