Not the vendor
Found this new board while looking for RAM options for arduino and thought it sounds like a big leap forward. Wanted to post it somewheres and guessed at "Components." Wrong place?
http://www.microchip.com/chipkit has more details. Deciphering their marketing isnt helping -- "compatible with many" instead of "all" shields.
KEY FEATURES
Application development within the Arduino IDE while leveraging existing code examples, tutorials and resources
Pin-out compatibility with many existing Arduino shields that can operate at 3.3V
Lower price-point at four times the performance than existing solutions
Advanced capabilities including:
Integrated USB (Device/Host, OTG)
Integrated Ethernet

So is this judgement day for the arduino boards if this is a hit? :D

2D mapping
Wondering if this is enough onboard processing power and memory for 2D mapping? At least it is about the same price as a regular aurduino board.
