Let's Make Robots!

And the winner is?????

Well the deadline is up. Robot Grrl and I have both entered the "Make a robot with personality" contest on Make magazine. I think there is another entry as well but I'm not sure if he's from LMR.

Jax gave it his best but Murphy kicked him in the pants.

The judging is done by the staff of MAKE magazine. Check the robots out and see what you think.

Andy Wolf's Belvedere: http://makeprojects.com/Project/Belvedere-A-Butler-Robot/823/1

As far as I know these are the only entries. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Just for future reference...

Congrats after all these months Russell!

Lol, just kidding.

Unfortunately I never did get the subscription promised.
After writting to them a few times they sent me the edition you found. That was it!

Oh well it was fun to make. I still have Chopsticks but I never have time to keep him maintained.

GODDAMMITWHYDIDNTIKNOWABOUTTHIS? I'd have entered a couple times!

Umm, you don't know anyone called Murphy do you?

Participated if I 1) Wasn't so overworked that it's silly and 2) Are all out of microcontrollers to use. :(

Belvedere, now that's a think I'd put on my Romba, to add some more functions to the vacooming...

All entries are nice and entertaining, but I think Chopsticks has the most fun and complexity. Belvedere has the most utility and also interacts with people verbally. The Bird is... funny, but it does not pick my interest.

So, I would say:

1. Chopsticks
2. Belvedere
3. RoboBrrd

Congrats to the participants!

I agree with Gareth, this one will be a win for LMR.

Only 3 entries really? This is one of those cases of less people entering a contest than you would expect.

I'm surprised you didn't enter.

It does sound like a fun contest, but I always tend to hear about them a little too late.
