r/c with arduino uno?

hello everyone i am new to this website and i was wondering if anybody knew how to make a r/c robot with an arduino uno really i only need a parts i dont know what to buy also if i add a ping sensor is there a there a way that i can switch between r/c and autonomous? thanks a bunch

As far as parts go, look at the "Start Here" robot at the top of the page.

The easiest way to do RC is if you have a transmitter and receiver like that used for model planes and cars. The pulsin command can then be used to read the pulses from the receiver. The receiver sends outs pulses of between 1000uS and 2000uS every 20mS to control servos.

From there you can program it to be autonomous but still recognise signals from the RC receiver.
