Anyone do regular searching for deals on craiglist for robotics materials? What are some good search terms to use for finding usable items?
I just saw this article on How to get automatic updates to Craigslist search results. It is just explaining how to set up an RSS feed from your search. This may not be news to some, but it was to me so I thought I'd share it.
Good find Andrew. Thanks!
the sky is the limit. Depending on how good your recycling skills are. :)
You could search for motorized kids toys if you are looking to build a larger mobile platform for exploring outside. I am sure motorized wheelchairs and the like could be utilized for their motors. CD/DVD drives could be scavenged for their motors/switches/leds. Weedeaters could be dismantled for their motors, if you want to try your hand at a gas powered bot. :) Hair driers and the like could be scavenged if you need to build a plastic bender.
As you can see from my splattergun answer, maybe you could narrow your question to get a better idea of what to look for.
Oh, I forgot the hairdryer! I did get my parts for the Plexi Bender 800 (aka Plexiburn Gnomeatron) from craigslist.
