Cost to build:

Time to build:
40 hours
Weight:
7000 grams

"Crunch"    UGV/ RC Battle bot ]]]] Parts~ 2x gear head motor banebot's 64:1  mop bucket caster weal , saber tooth 2x25A , RC control 2.4GHz 5chan RC , power 18v 1.2 Ah drill batt that should get it going The frame was not to hard to build a stick welder, bench and 6" hand  grinder, drop saw , hack saw ,drill (rechargeable)1.5 m of 25x25 steal angel some flat bar,,,,, all that remains to be bult is a shell this will be last thing just in case

"Added teck",,, Dimension engineering's  battle switch 240V 10A on channel 5 of rc (why ? general switching )

"Need to add" ,...... 5v reg power from main batt (why ? the Sabertooth has it's own 5v reg ? if your running just an RC receiver your fine add a servo and every time it's under load the Sabertooth shuts down ) so find/ build a regulator a little more than 1A say 3A to 5A ~

"Problems"  ,,,,,,, Interference AV and RC . if the AV transmitter and RC receiver are too close control is lost ..( FIX move apart ) ... Power Drain ...the on bored 5V power regulator of the sabertooth motor controller has over drawer protection and can not sustain loads over 500mA ~ ( Fix... more robust power regulator 3 to 5 Amps connected to main power  may need fuse ?  )

UGV mode

, armored camera dome ,servo to tilt camera ,LED  lamp (Dimension engineering's  battel swich  ) ,AV TX 5,8GHz all front mounted on a removable frame .... 90% complete

Battle bot mode

bumper bar with massive spikes and spinning blades of burning robot death \m/ (0,o) \m/ all front mounted on a removable frame  .... 0% complete

full auto/ semiautomatic mode ???????? ideas ?  a 7Kg at 20kph can damage humans

i have Arduino Uno.  IR range analog x 5, ping x1 ,servos tilt / pan sets x2  , 4 x RC ESC, duel axes magnothingy   ect,,,,,,,,...-100% complete no plan yet

How come i missed this one.... (just blipped up on my youtube channel ;-)

That is one slick mover (the driver needs a bit of practice though).

Man it can pirouette on the spot at speed ,look forward to see how the camera will be integrated (autonomous control !!!!)

ChuckCrunch's picture

LOL yes the driver needs a bit of practice

it's a powerful thing, kind of dangerous. autonomous is not my first choice for control, RC telly present

it's in the rethink stage again.

you need to build a vacuum cleaner robot..:)

Looks super cool!  Nice job!

Thanks i need to put up a new picture some time today

i mooved the battery , it was in the center of the bot but it was hard to get at.and it would flip when stoping quickley ,so ive mooved it back and made a mount four it, and it will slide in and out easely now

you can see hear on the right of pic

i now have more space for my more prement bits , ill plate the sides of the batt box and put on a hindged lid with locking pin

next might be to plate the underneath . create mounting points for eletronicks  find power for camera and AV TX (7.2v rc car bat 1800mAh,)........ect

Looking cool.

FYI, you can edit the post so new pictures and descriptions appear at the top, instead of mixed in with the comments.
