do you need a DC Motor Driver board to control a motor or can you somehow implement the controlling on an fpga (which has a soft-core).
so basically: controlling a motor with just an fpga/core, and without a seperate dc motor driver
umm if you can run a few Amps threw it
an absolute beginner beginning with fpga's?
as i understand it fpga's are programmable chips that behave like logic circuits.you can set up a bunch of logic gates like or, nor, nand, exor etc. instead of telling it what to do like with a micro, you tell it what to 'be'.
based on that alone i suspect they will not provide enuff current to directly drive motors.
