Let's Make Robots!

Design Challenge from AFRON

Hi LMRians !

This is not a contest from me but from the African Robotics Network (AFRON). This association aims to popularize robotics in Africa as an educational way so they hold this contest.

The goal is to design robots that costs less than 10$ and that can be used for educationnal purposes. There are three categories depending on the fact the processing unit is embedded or not. The 9 Best projects will be awarded.

AFRON has been founded by :

We did submit our Swarm Robot design: http://letsmakerobots.com/node/32511 and we hope to win that competition :-)

Cool ! Hope you'll be a prize ! Guys from organisations looked to be happy about participation level.

I finally didn't have time to enter ... maybe next time.

I would love to see Africa move the science of robotics forward!  Is the contest international?  I see that there's a note about using U$ as a target.

Yes it is, everybody is invited to participe. The target is in US dollars but it can be converted from any devise.

i will suggest Ignoblegnome's spurtbot, they are very cheap and educational!!!

Goal is to participate, and to be creative, so I think any entry will be appreciated  ;-) !

IG's spurbot is not programmable...in guess that was a requirement... and this stopped me to submit ALF
