I just wanted to know if a Raspberry pi is able to communicate with a online chess engine which I use the coordinates to move a real robotic opponent.
P.S Is the arduino able to do this.

Another question I have is to control the stepper motors should I use the raspberry pi directly with a stepper motor driver like a l298N
or should I have the raspberry pi tell a arduino what to do.
I think having the raspberry pi tell the arduino what to do is easier (correct me if I am wrong) since I do not have to raise the raspberry pis 3.3v to 5v.
