So I have been working pretty hard at my job and been able to get some extra money. I really want to build another robot and I wanted to ask lmr if they have any suggestions for my next robot and or parts? I am open to any suggestions.
Seeing all your previous bots with wheels and tracks i suggest you try a walker now. With a couple of hundred dollar you can build a nice quadruped or hexapod. Check my Chopstick Junior, it's not expensive and fun to build :-)
just saw your chopsticks Junior robot looks really cool! thanks for the inspiration.
My little Bajdupod 9G doesn't use inverse kinematics. The walking gait is just a simple switch case :D Well it works :) I've done some research (googling) on inverse kinematics, it's not the easiest code. But I hope to program my next hexapod using inverse kinematics. Dagu sell a cheap hexapod kit, you can now even buy it from Sparkfun: http://letsmakerobots.com/node/32854
Oh ok thanks for the clarrification I thought that hexapods needed inverse kinematics to program a walking gait. I think im going to get that hexapod thanks for the help (:
Don't know how much you want to spent. But if I was willing to spent a couple of thousand Euro on a robot I would go for one of the humanoid kits. Some of the other robots I really like are the 6WD Wild thumper.
Oh and my next "big" robot project is another hexapod. I'm still sticking with cheap Chinese servos but if you have the dosh you can get some Dynamixel servos to make a walker.
Take a look at all the robot projects posted here and see what fancies you the most...
I dont have a 1000 dollars to spend, but i have a couple of hundred dollars. I was thinking about making hexapod but im scared of the inverese kinematics/ programming.
