I wonder if they will ever offer just an smt version, no breadboard stuff needed... I know PICAXE is geared towards education, but It's so easy to use, I'm planning on using it to prototype an invention I'm planning on selling eventually...

Picaxe does sell surface mount versions of their chips. If thats what you mean. Surface Mount PICAXE ICs
