i think this little project would be good for your programming and electronics.

it looks like a lot of fun.

It seems like they connect the cathode of all LEDs in one layer and anodes of all LEDs in one column. You can control the individual led by connecting the correct column anode and the correct layer cathode.

wow.. really nice, thanks for info, i wold love to make it but i need to understand a bit more how they connect the LEDs
