Automotive uses for arduino
so this is a non-robot kinda deal so i'll blog about it just to let the people that aren't in chat know whats going on. progress on all my bots are slow. got a few projects going on right now including rfid entry in my car. right now its on breadboard im using my dorkboard and the prfid reader. when it senses the correct card it activates one relay to act as the unlock switch and then it will also pop my door. see one fo my other pastimes is car audio and customization. and in this realm the possibilities of uses for an adruino are endless is anyone out there working on something like this? picaxe arduino w/e. u got a micro controller doing something in you car lets hear about it!
so i got most of the setup laid out the dorkboard is gonna be ina socket unp in a cubby of my dash surrounded by plexi and leds to show it off but still make it removable so i can tweak the code and add features that board right now has 6 wires running to it. those wires are unlock, door pop, rfid enable, rfid signal, +5v , and -5v. this would change depending on how many more things i add. those wires then will run to a board under the dash. this board will contain a dc-dc converter and for now two relays one will pull the unlock line to ground unlocking the car and the other will trigger an even bigger relay popping my door open. and that board will be the main power/signal hub and may actualy remain a protoboard in a project box just so add ons will be easier. i'll post some pics of the prototype setup alittle later and hopefully in a few weeks it will be in my car and functioning.

the auto windows up when the
the auto windows up when the car is locked via the remote poped it to my head lately because my mom keeps forgetting to close the windows since she is used to manuel ones. The only thing is you might want an overide in case you leave a dog in your car and you need you need to leave the window a bit open.
You could also have the car cut power to the headlights when you lock it so no chance of killing the battery.
Or if your realy good have the car send its GPS possition and use google maps so that you could track it in case it is stollen.
There are loads of possibilities!!
