Other electronics (not necessarily robotic)
A place for the discussion TofuRobot brought up regarding other electronic projects. Instead of being lost to the shoutbox nether regions, here's a screenshot of the beginning.

Personally, I think tip/walkthrough would be the right place for stuff that can also apply to robotics. Non-robotics (like the carduino example) would go in a blog.

A new category?
At the moment I do post my sensor ideas as a blog until it is tested and then I do a tip walkthrough.
Non robotic circuit ideas can still be very usefull. For example reading about how a filter worked in a disco light strobe circuit helped me improve my sonar circuit.
A general electronics category could be useful.

Personally I think that the components pages are getting a littile out of hand with 84 pages in the "Other" catagory. It seems like everything is getting thrown in the "other" catagory. If I were to post my "Automotive RFID DeadMan Switch" project in the components section, who would scroll through 84 screens to see it?
Not I

Yes this is a problem

Agreed, better sorting and
Agreed, better sorting and tagging up front should be the vendors' job. Since you're going to qualify as a vendor rep soon, what can be done to help the situation? Do we need more categories for components? Should there be an "Uncategorized" category for the ones that aren't done (leaving Other as a valid category)?
Not that I'm wishing this task on you at your new job. Just hoping to make it easier in case you do get stuck with it, and so other vendors can do it better in the future too.
Sorry for all the questions, just thinking out loud.
