Video Encoding with CS4954


I have some new and interesting stuff to share. The attached photos demonstrate my progress with generating baseband video signals (CVBS or composite video) for wireless transmission (see my other blog posts). As I finally realised that video stream editing at 27MHz data rate (towards stereoscopic vision) is hardly possible with the Parallax Propeller, I turned over to hardware editing. In the first step I thought I should start with discrete logic IC's but a colleague of mine "persuaded" me to use an FPGA. Well, he was definitely right.

Write LMR (Manual Mode)

I was filling some gaps of time and once again, started playing with my little drawing bot. A truly sad little bot that has never really found a calling and receives none of my attention. Never the less, I did manage to build a nifty pen-lifter thing and stick a bluetooth module on. As seen in the video, just regular ol' RC control (except via the tilt of the Android phone) with a Sharpie stuck down the middle.

Please don't expect to be impressed.

Rocketbot robot controller and wireless fun

So recently I decided to purchase a bluetooth module in hopes of pairing it with my phone in case I ever wanted to show off a robot to someone. In my quest to find an android app for my phone, I came across three. The first is the cellbots app (more information found here: http://www.cellbots.com/), which include a .pde file that I tried to deciper for some simple functions but ended up giving up after a few hours. The second is the amarino plugin available from here: http://www.amarino-toolkit.net/.

Wii Camera BreakOuts

I just finished and sent off some break out boards to support a wiicamera. These boards use the camera after it has been removed from the wiimote and communicate via i2c NOT the standard bluetooth connection of the wiimote. Included on the board is the necessary reset circuit and 25mhz crystal. There are a total of (4) .9" mounting holes to match 2-56 hardware. 2 of these holes match the hole pattern of the servo horn of the "LMR standard" blue servo. Pull-up resistors are also on board for the i2c lines. The board requires and has a 5-pin header for:

Alliance of Droids - Companion Robot - Help needed!

Hello everyone. Just so everyone knows, I am an absolute beginner when it comes to electronics and that sort of stuff. I built my own R2-D2, but it wasn't motorized.

I want to build a companion robot for the Alliance of Droids - my charity. I was planning to use some Arduino's for the project, as well as a controller system.

I want to know the estimated cost, the parts I would need, and some more information.
