An even cheaper Wi-Fi board


For a few cents more than the ESP12F you get it with a programmer daughter board, a RGB led, a button and a photoresistor.
This is ideal for small robot with networking abilities.
Can be programmed with Arduino IDE as a NodeMCU v1.0 .

I spent the past few weeks researching voice interactivity and sound effect playback (mainly through Google search), and designing a 4 bar linkage to figure out what powertrain I need to drive the feet movement.  I thought others might benefit from info about my work so I'm posting it here.  This project will likely move at a fairly slow pace mainly due to current budget constraints.

Object tracking servo jitters... in only one direction?

I've come across a problem during the fine-tuning of my object tracker. When the "neck" servo is steadily decending positions (turning to the left) the movement is smooth, even with decrements > 1. It acts completely different when turning right. There is a distict pause between each SERVOPOS and I noticed it takes longer to process a debug cycle as well. The head shakes, rattles and rolls, the values used to adjust turning speed based on object distance are insufficient, and it just looks terrible.
