Has anyone built an iPhone or android App ?

I am in need of a App Maker (either iPhone or android) that will :-

(1) Give button menu system to over 400 pictures

(2) Give Button menu system to 16x 2minute films

(3) Possibility of switching subtitles on/off to above films.

(4) interactivity is the Key to the whole thing.

I have all the Data already made on a DVD (as above) ...i just need to bring my system up to date ...as DVDs are dying...

I have never made any "Apps" before so clueless on the process.....(especial cross platform ie android/iphone)


Real Time Lip Syncing on the cheap

Lipsyncing is the process of making an animatronic costume or model mimic the actions of speaking. I use the term mimic as it is currently impossible to make an artifical tougue or larynx that will duplicate speech. So we have to use a speaker with a recorded voice and have an animatronics track to make the movements.

Real Time Lipsyncing is where you do not have the luxury of being able to record tracks and add the lipmovements. It has to be done on the fly and often whilst interacting ad-hoc with an audience.

Spider controller

The DAGU Red back Spider controller is an Arduino Mega (1280) compatible controller that is especially designed for driving a large number of servos. All 70 I/O pins are terminated in servo compatible 3pin male headers as well as the standard female header and the power supply is a switchmode power supply delivering 5V @ 3A from an input voltage of 7V - 32V.

Updated assembly manual for Service Droid owners

Another minor update. I've now included the instructions for adding the sensor wire to the servos. Note that this will void the servo warantee as we cannot guarantee the quality of your work. The instructions were included because if you do want to modify your servos you should do it before assembly begins.

R2D2 Third Leg

Started to work on the third leg today. Inside the body four aluminium pipes guide the platform where the third leg will be attached to. The platform needs more stability going up and down, so extra gliding holes will be placed somewhat higher around each pipe in order to make sure the platform stays horizontal when moved.

Alrighty, ctc, got the rig working. The setup is the following:

<ir beacon> transmitting byte sequence from 1-9

<relay station> picaxe 8m with ir receiver showing correct data in the debug window.

Arduino Nano on PCB

As I wrote in Chopstick Junior 1.0 (there you can see it in the robot) here comes the part with the Arduino Nano on a PCB.

Why I did this?

Well, it's just a try to use the Arduino Nano for other robots too. This gives me the chance to remove the MC and put it in another robot or just upgrade this one with a new Nano. But the most important is that I can connect all the servos I need directly to the board without any solering or using male-to-female cables.
