scavanged pagermotors from toy car

Here is a quick walk-through on how to get your hands on a really cheap alternative to the GM10s. The motors you get here are not even nearly as cool as the GM10s, but you don't feel bad when you fry them.

Continuously Rotating Servo

I just found this on HobbyEngineering.com and thought you might like it. I've read a few tutorials on how servo's can be made to rotate indefinately, and rather than doing that work, why not spend the extra $3 and get one already made that way?

So, here's a link and the description to one.

http://www.hobbyengineering.com/H1429.html

Pololu Dual Serial Motor Controller

The pololu dual serial controller is a great component to controll more than 1 motor. It uses a single seraial cable from a microcontroller to control the motors. I am still trying to figure out how to crack the serial code for it. This is the connection for 2 motors:

It's hard for me as this is the first time programming for me.

You can see the programming rule by downloading the attachment and scrolling down to configuring and useing the motor controller.

Cool and easy belt tracks / treads

Nice litle set of belt-tracks. Kinda cute!

http://www.solarbotics.com/products/gmtpkg/

Price is for a pair!

You will need to sort out how to mount the 2 axels that are not on the motor, but it can be done quite easily: http://letsmakerobots.com/node/112

TAMIYA twin-motor gearbox

This is a very nice little package. You have to assamble yourself, and there are 3 ways.

You want to assamble in "C"-mode, ratio 203:1

The A & B setups, 58:1 are really fun because they are fast etc.. until you try to make your robot use it. It is simply not strong enough for the fast-changing pulses etc from a PIC-controller, it is useless because it takes so much time to accelerate, and many setups will not ever get up to speed at all..

Wheels and motor - miniature, fast and funny

i bought in to this deal - and it really is the most funny set of motor & wheel I have encountered so far:

http://www.solarbotics.com/products/gm10w_deal/

Cool part is that they can also be used instead of a servo, and to swing drumsticks, and in little fast and light weight but strong robots
