Servo control in Java

Hello everyone. I am making my first robot, and it's going to be a hexapod.

I have trouble with finances so I don't have most of the parts yet, and I have to make things work with parts I have before I can get more money from my club for other stuff I need.

I have 3 CARSON CS-3 502015 servo motors and Intellibrain board (I've got it for robotics competition). I program it in Java becouse it doesn't support anything else, and compiler I use is RoboJDE.

What does it do?

Web-controllable Telepresence

This is the fusion of my old Qwerkbot project and a 4WD base, with omniwheels replacing the originals. I've also attached one of Oddbot's compound IR sensors for better object tracking.

Latest Update: finally implemented (stationary) pan/tilt object tracking! (See video)

Qwerk control with processing

So I was doubly inspired by Chris the Carpenter's recent experiments with robot control via processing, and f5pql's heavily-equipped qwerk-based robot to do some more tinkering of my own. I'd been programming the qwerk for autonomous operation through the SimpleRobotClient, and controlling it directly through the telepresence DiffDrive client, but was beginning to wish I could somehow construct a hybrid of the two. But building a client from scratch - or even just tweaking the existing ones - looked scary!

I can do the coding and datbase side of things, hardware will be dependant on everyones robots but i use arduino and plan to go n to a beagle board i nthe long run and Cris uses pic so we should be able to make this pretty portable for everyones projects.

At the moment im working on a nice GUI(Graphical User Interface) to make it easier to see whats happening and hopefully cut down on development time.

What does it do?

Latest Update: New 4WD base with omni wheels- see new 'QwerkRover' project!

My first robot. I added a couple of features to the "Qwerkbot+" recipe- a sharp IR distance sensor for input; a couple of ultrabright LEDs for at-a-glance status indication; and a loudspeaker for audio playback. The base had two wheels for differential drive, plus a castor to balance. The webcam and IR sensor are then mounted on a pan/tilt unit (two servos).
