Cluster Bots

Hi this is just a forum for any beginners who want to build Cluster Bots

Radio mast navigator - idea :)

fritsl's picture

Hi, just got this idea, and thought perhaps it would interest one of the clever guys out there. Hope is that a vendor will take this up, after a couple of clever LMRians have talked more about the details that I am too stupid to get into :)

Super Capacitor in solar power supply - a few queries

Sydney-Floyd's picture

I intend to build a remote 'weather station'

The station will:

  • Be completley independant of any external power, ie, it will produce its own power via solar cell(s)
  • Measure temperature only
  • Transmit its finding over an RF link to an indoors reciever

Instead of using a rechargeable battery supply with charger circuit, i have decided to use a 35F, 2.7V super capacitor to smooth and store power.

Building a Universal RF Remote - Questions

Sydney-Floyd's picture

More Recent UPDATE: the competed remote can be found here. Thanks to fritsl and rik for their respective helpfulness.

UPDATE: Attached (and blurrily pictured below) is my schematic that i think will work for this remote. Yes I drew it in paint, Yes it took too long:

*The "To Breadboard" leads are included so that the remote may also serve as a portable power supply.

Radio Controlled Servo?

I am completely new to robot building, and electronics in general.  I am currently working on a homemade airsoft claymore.  It is designed to be toggled via a wireless remote control. The issue is that I don't know much about wiring remote controlled systems. I've built a few remote controlled cars, but they were from kits, so I really didn't understand the electronic aspects: I just assembled them by following the instructions. Here is my problem with my current project:

High-End Radio Gear

Benbo231's picture

My remote control car met the end of its life last week. (smashed into a wall...) So, i salvaged everything i could, and found some interesting stuff:

A Motor Controller

Transmitter/Reciever (can control 2 servos)

5 batteries, ranging from 1500 to 2000 mAh

I also had lying around:

2 radio transmitters

a second switch for the motor controller

I need:

-arduino proto shield

-lots and lots and lots of polymorph. like a shoebox full. a shoebox from someone with canoes for feet.

DIY wireless, possible or not?

CaptainTuna's picture

Hi guys!

Sometime ago i had an idea in my mind about a DIY wireless link between, say, two MCUs. But the point is that i never tested it. I just wanted to know what you thought about it and if you think it could work (you are the electronic gurus after all :) )

It should work like this.

-Receiver has the antenna attached to the base of a darlington, and the signal received goes to the MCU (if not enough maybe i could make a bigger darlington, maybe three NPNs)

This is an electronics question that has little to do with robots. But this forum seems a good place to ask it anyway.

For an upcoming diy project, I am in need of some advice on integrated radio circuits. For my 93 yr old grandmother I hope to build a radio that can do this:

Radio video emmiter

I've posted something similar to this, but the previous question was how to convert a USB connector to a normal video connector, the question now is how to transmit video through radio.

What I want to build is a radio emmiter and a radio reciver for this purpose, sending ONLY video to transmit from a camera to a TV.

Does someone know how to build this and what I need to do so?

Video transmission

Hi everyone,

I'm quite new in all of this, but i want to build a robot able to transmit video, and possibly sound. I've got a common webcam and I want to make it wire less, but I don't know how to do it.

I would apreciate any help from you lot.

Thanks.
