Autonomous transatlantic boat

While exploring the LMR website, I came across a couple of autonomous boat projects that looked really cool. They reminded me of another project that I've been watching for a while now called the Scout Transatlantic Project. If you haven't seen it, it's an 8 foot long carbon/kevlar boat, controlled by an arduino mega, and powered by solar panels and lipos. Enjoy.

Self-transforming robot

Hello everybody!

Check out this amazing self-transforming robot if you have a couple of minutes to spare. It was designed, built, and programmed by Muhammed Hasan Shariq at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai campus.

Hello! I'm new here

DJ Sures's picture

Hi there. I have seen a few videos from this website. I've even been told a few time to sign up, so here I am! :) Glad to meet you all! Lots of fun projects on here. I've been looking through the Robots and Blog area, some real neat stuff.

I'm a robot builder also, sorta, kinda. I spit out new ones often, so I may not have time to post them in the Robots section. But I really like the active forum here! I'll probably be around often.

Here's a few links to some of my robots if you're interested:

Semi-autonomous Quad-rotor Helicopter

niall's picture

Some of you may remember me posting a robot page last week about this subject. It was decided (and I agreed with it) by Fritsl to remove it from there as it was no more than idea at the moment. That said, it was a very firm idea as this makes up a third of this ears mark and a sixth of our final Master's classifications!

One of our group members has started up a Blog on Blogger to keep a track of thing, so click the link below and you can follow it to keep up to date with what we're doing.

Only autonmous robots are real robots!

fritsl's picture

Whatching TV, some guy displayed some "installation art", with a "robot horse", some mechanics controlled by electronics, looking oh so funny.

"That´s not a robot", I said.

"Why is noone elses robots but yours entitled to be called a real robot", my wife said.

I tried to explain to her, that what we just saw on TV was an installation, not an autonomous robot!

It is jus tlike "Robot Wars".. These things are NOT "robots" in my terms. They are "Remote controlled things"!
