Laser tag

Hello

I am planning on building a lasar tag set with my arduino. does anyone know what I could use to detect the lasar ( some sort of reciever or cell of some sort) I want to be able to use it when there is light so a photo cell is already out of the picture.

Arduino Wavefront Algorithm

First Up... If you want to find out what Wavefront Mapping is all about head over to the Society of Robots Tutorial. It has a great wtite up and its where I first learnt about it.

Basic's done, So lets talk about Map size limits.....

The Arduino 2560 & 1280 both have 8k of SRAM (where the map is stored)

I'm using an array of Int's, each Int is 2 Bytes, so max size would be the square root of 8k / 2.

8192 / 2 = 4096

Sqaure Root of 4096 = 64

Trying to use a light sensor to control a stepper motor

So this code finally works, how do i change it from a light sensor to infrared sensor?

int dirPin = 8;

int stepperPin = 7;

void setup() {

  Serial.begin(9600);

  pinMode(dirPin, OUTPUT);

  pinMode(stepperPin, OUTPUT);

  pinMode(A0, INPUT);

}

void step(boolean dir,int steps){

  digitalWrite(dirPin,dir);

  delay(50);

  for(int i=0;i<steps;i++)

  {

    digitalWrite(stepperPin, HIGH);

    delayMicroseconds(800);

servo for mini hexapod

Hello,

I want to build a mini hexapod and i would like a suggestion from you for a cheap servomachine (de kserw an to grafw kala auto) to use, which will be sufficient for this project.. I have found these here on my own:

Motor Controller

Aahhmm...Behalf of my Majestic Awesomeness,

I would like to ask a QUESTIONs that bothers me always when thinking about the Purpose of Motor Controller.

I was reading about the Lessons in How to Make a Robot in http://www.robotshop.com/gorobotics/articles/how-to-make-a-robot-lesson-1

then I found out that we need Motor Controller in order to control the Actuators.

Micocontroller and Motor Controller must work together in order to operate a Robot.

Trouble with arduino/processing

I've been trying to teach myself Arduino and Processing, and I've been hitting a few problems. I had a previous post Here, but it was getting a bit crowded with code, so I thought I'd start a new post.

Questions about arduino, rover 5, shields

I'm an absolute beginner to making robots.

I'm looking to make a robot using the Rover 5 (4 motor with 4 encoders), and an arduino as the brains.

Based on what I've read, to drive all 4 motors as well as read all the encoders, the arduino UNO doesn't have enough pins, so an Arduino MEGA or Red Back Spider is needed.   as well as the Dagu 4 Channel 5-12V, 2A Brushed DC Motor Controller, or something similar which provides enough power to the motors, and communicates with the arduino (or spider).

First question is, is the above correct?

Can Arduino RBBB programmed wirelesly by wixel?

I have an arduino rbbb for my robot and i want to upload sketches wirelesly via wixel and wixel shield.. I am asking because at the description of wixel-shield says that it will not work with arduino Leonardo.. and i am wondering if that also happens with rbbb. It's not an official arduino so that's maybe the reason why it is not mentioned if they are not compatible. Any suggestions would be very helpfull.. thank you!

Very Very Cheap Platform

So, I was starting on building my second robot, and I didn't really find enough materials around. I found straws and chopsticks, so I cut them up, glue them, and made them into a cheap base for my robot.

The Social drink Machine

Well, the Romanians at Robofun have built a drink mixing robot. It's not looking like the famous Bar2D2, it's looking more like a 2 axis CNC machine, but it has it's share of coolness. To order a drink, you scan the bar code with your smart phone, get to the site and choose a drink. Then wait for a bar code to be displayed on your phone, place a glass in the machine and show the bar code to the machine's webcam.

Wavefront Algorithm Mapping

Hi, LMRians. I've been reading up on this Wavefront Algorithm Navigation and I understand bits and pieces of it, but not everything. I'm trying to learn up on it so I can use it in my next robot : Project 4L-FRED (Alfred), a butler robot. The robot is suppose to navigate around the house from the dining area to the living room and serve drinks to guests. The robot will have pre-recorded messages like greetings and stuff like asking what drinks the guest would prefer.

bi-directional speed controller

Hi all.

I am really new to robotics, and only just recently got my arduino uno. i've played around a bit here and there to learn how to control servo's and such, so i figured it's time for me to build my first robot. but in the design, i've come across a few problems:

Processing-Arduino serial port problem

I've picked up an arduino to start working with, and have currently slung together a bit of code to toggle the on-board LED over serial. I've also modified one of the Processing demos to use as a GUI to turn it on and off. However, my arduino is on COM6, and if I try to change the port on Processing to anything other than 0, it comes up with an error. I know the arduino code works, as I've tried it with the arduino serial terminal, however the processing app doesn't want to play ball.

Zifduino bootloader programming shield

When I first began working with Arduino I was amazed by the incredible things people were doing with the devices. After a couple of successes with my little UNO R3 I wanted to make some things using  "standalone"  chips. Following some tips from fellow Ardweenies I discovered this: http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ArduinoToBreadboard

Where should I start with wireless robot-to-computer data transmission?

I'm working on a project where my bot collects some information while traversing a grid. I want to send the findings back to my computer wirelessly as the robot is moving. The range is not far (2-5 metres) and I am on a budget (Up to $20 but the lower the better).

The data I need to relay needs only be three sets of three single digit numbers. I could even condense it to be three 3 digit numbers or one 9 digit number I suppose.
