Weird Compass readings

Using this tutorial, I set up my new HMC5883l compass module from china onto my robot, and I had a simple program to draw the readings onto a circle.

A custom Pi shield or an Arduino?

As more and more people get a Pi they are asking how to interface it to their robot. I do not own a Pi but I looked at the GPIO pins available for interfacing. Apart from general digital I/O pins you have I2C, SPI and Serial interfacing available. I assume there is a library or something that allows these pins to be easily access from within the Linux operating system.

So the question becomes do you just use another MCU such as an Arduino to provide the necessary I/O functionality or do you use a custom shield?

Doodle Bot on Instructables and MAKE Projects

"First Robot" Problems!

Hi everyone,

I made my first robot according to the instructions from HERE : http://communityofrobots.com/tutorial/kawal/how-make-your-first-robot-using-arduino

After constructing the body and circuit of the robot, I put in the servo program, and that works fine so thats good

Robot A.I. idea for non neural network approach.

In this Blog I am simply gethering my thoughs in preperation for a long term project. Hopefully some programming Guru's will post some good ideas. Maybe it will inspire someone else. I am just one nueron in the huge brain of humanity.

Personal History
When I was 12, I taught myself to program in GW basic on an IBM clone that ran at 8MHz with monochrome, text only graphics and a 5¼inch floppy disk drive. At that time I wanted to write an artificial inteligence.

Arduino stops uploading

Hi,

Can anyone verify for me, that trying to upload a program to Arduino MEGA or maybe any Arduino, the upload stops if the code contains a constant string including !!! ?

like this small one will fail:

// Upload will never end
void setup() {
  String A = "!!!";
}

void loop() {
}

this one will finish:

// Upload will finish
void setup() {
String A = "aaa";
}

void loop() {
}

feasibility of DIY wireless headphone kit

So, I was searching the market for what my wireless headphone options were and got quite disappointed.

As it seems, wireless used is either IR, RF (on the FM/UHF band) and Bluetooth (also 2.4Ghz seemingly working in the router's norm).

IR ... needs line of sight, small range...
RF... prone to interferences
Bluetooth... small range
2.4GHz... some reviews said they interfered with the home wireless routers

Rc car with arduino

Hi guys, I'm planning to make an obstacle detection rc car where the rc car will have its power being cut-off/reverse when the sensor detects an obstacle.
