Wild Thumper, progress but help/advice requested

Hi all,

I had a lot of trouble with motor driver boards and my Wild Thumper 4WD chassis - in the end I bought a more expensive motor controller said to handle 60A. I am controlling the paired (left/right side) motors by PWM signal and  it now drives forward/backwards/left/right etc.

The <20€ European open robot kit v1

The purpose is to make a bill of material to make an easy to build, easy to hack, cheap and full of features robot.

There are various builds, so it's better to list components that fit the bill (easy to use, cheap and readily available from arduino kits and chinese e-commerces)

New tutorial on how to make an Arduino robot

I posted this on the Facebook page, but thought I'd post it here as well.

I just finished writing an in-depth tutorial on how to make an Arduino-based robot. It's targeted towards beginners and should help someone completely new to robotics to build their first robot, but anyone making a robot with an Arduino will find it useful. Here's picture of the robot I make in the tutorial:

How many versions of arduino have you got?

I've got a few versions of arduino on my pc and I'm probably wasting space but I bet I'm not the only one.
Just wondering what versions are best to keep. I believe there are incompatabilities with existing code for some older or newer versions.
At the moment I've got 21,22 and 23 and 1.0.3.
Are there any I haven't got I should have and which of these should I ditch.
Also is there a way to tell each version where it's sketchbook is and keep it. I've noticed that when I switch ide's I have to change the sketchbook back. Really annoying.

cannot let motor go backwards

I'm programming to TREX motor controller. Somehow I cannot make the motor go backward. However, my code is pretty much the same as the sample code in the tutorial. Could someone help me out? Thanks a lot.

The code is like below, when the inputSpeed less than 0, it should set lmdirpin and rmdirpin to 0, and therefore go backwards, however, the code doesn't work and I cannot debug it out. And I'm sure the pin numbers are right. Can any one help me to figure it out. Thanks for the help.

Prototype of OSLRF01 Arduino Scanning LIDAR (Under $150)

I've finally got pictures to show off the OSLRF-01 Open Source Laser Range Finder.  I've mounted it to a sturdy servo, and am running both currently with An Arduino FIO ... simply because that's the only available Arduino I have at the moment.

I am also getting boards made up around the ATtiny84 that will sit as a daughterboard on this unit.   But the FIO prototype is to help me get functional code working NOW...

raspberry pi arduino,

So im pretty newish to robotics and programming in general, but ive done some reading and have started down my own path.

RS-232 Wireless comms with XRF radio

Hey peeps

My first post in a very long time...

I've got a project on the go at the moment, gonna post it as a robot soon, which is a robotic dragon quadruped called Dimitri (not sure why, but I like it)

Since an Arduino isn't clever enough to do all the things I'd like this robot to do, I'm gonna have most of its brain inside my laptop and communicate wirelessly.

I'm having problems getting a connection with my current setup, here's a photo:

trouble with nanpy

I have nanpy 0.8 installed on my raspberry pi, it is hooked up sucsessfully to my arduino mega2560.  I cant find a lot of information on usung the servo library or anything else, I was hoping that someone could point me to some example code for servos or give me a quick pointer on using nanpy's servo library

Has anyone ported Bill Porters Easy Transfer for Raspberry PI?

I *REALLY* like Bill Porter's Easy Transfer library for Arduino.  Yes, I've Goo-oo-oo-gled this, but have not found any hits on Easy Transfer (Bill Porter's Easy Transfer, as opposed to that MickeySoft product)  for Raspberry PI.

HMC6352 Compass Module in Continuous Read Mode

I have a need (desire?) to use compass heading as part of my PID loop to keep my rover heading true.  Using my well established trial and error coding technique, I was unable to get a sufficient sample rate from the HMC6352 Compass module using code I pilfered.. er... borrowed (I plan to give it back!) from the Interwebs.

Another Pro Mini breakout board.

When Bajdi wrote his blog, http://letsmakerobots.com/node/40026 , about his undershield for the Arduino Pro Mini clones I was very interested and excited. This was because over the last few months I have purchased a few (20) of these Pro Mini clones myself. I was elated to see that there might be an easy interface board for my future projects.

Arduino Servo library and softwareserial library conflict

I need some help for this.

I am using arduino UNO and i have connected a GPS to softserial and a servo to pin9 and when the software runs the servo and softserial fights. I check online about the issue and it happend to many people and still i am unable to get a solution for.

I even tried almost all combinations of solution from internet and it did not work. When this happening some times servo works and other times GPS works.
