Arduino

A forced change of plans

A couple of months ago I started talking here about building a hexapod. I had it all planned out, made drawings, chose materials, hardware, electronics, made myself a shopping list and was good to go.

nanoDuino, sumo and soccer bots

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting with some new projects.

The first one is nanoDuino, an ultrasmall arduino, based on patrickmaccabe's one. This one has all the input and output's pins broken out and the sockets for FTDI and ICSP cables. It is 18,5x20,5 mm:

How to Connect 3 Arduinos using I2C?

I've tried hooking up 2 arduinos using I2C and I need to expand it to 3 now cause of the Razor IMU sensor, which is also an Arduino.

As the I2C uses analog pins 4 & 5, how do the master Arduino knows which slave it is talking to?

Arduino project losing its mind

I'm using Ro-Bot-X's uservotino for my Venux robot. I recently had a problem where the sketch (program, for all you non-Arduino types) disappeared on me. The board would power up fine, but nothing would happen. Then I upload the sketch again and everthing is fine.

I thought it was an isolated incident, but it just happened again! Any thoughts on what would cause an Adruino to lose its mind?

Help with Wild Thumper Controller

Hi guys,

I'm trying to hookup the Wild Thumper Controller (WTC)to my Uno.

Initial test with a RC unit works great, with the WTC receiving 1500 signals when in neutral position.

The Uno is sending the signal using the "servo.write(90)" function.

However, the signals received on the WTC fluctuates between 1400 to 1600.

The result is a jumper 6x6 :(

Is there a way to send perfect, stable signals to the WTC from the arduino?

Next, I'm exploring the Serial Comm (SC) mode of the WTC.

Tank track assembled

I said in my last blog entry that I wanted to play with the sensors first, and I did a bit, but I decided to go ahead and assemble the chassis and drivetrain first.  I got the Tamiya track and wheel set, the dual gear box and the universal plate set.  All this stuff is meant to work together, but the directions are in Japanese and it took a bit of kajiggering to get working right.  In particular, it gives you no real hints about how many of the track sections to use, you just have to estimate and if you get it wrong, take it apart and try again.

many little motors, many power supply questions

Hi all,

I am new to this forum but i have stalked users of this site for sometime.

I have a project on the go that i am a little stuck on. I have come pretty far since the idea hit me many months ago but now i am at the tail end and wondering how i will power this thing.

I have been using an Arduino connected to a bunch of 595 shift registers which are then connected to 36 small dc motors via npn transistors. the motors are small mobile phone vibrating motors and i need them to run, as per datasheet, 3v @ 90ma.

Android Open Accessory DIY DemoKit

At the Google I/O 2011 the new Android Open Accessory Development Kit (ADK) has been published. This allows to connect Accessorys to your Android phone and communicate between the Accessory and the Android via USB. The Accessory has to implement an USB Host, while the Android acts as a USB client.

A ridiculously powerful Arduino form factor board

Clicking around, I found this PIC32-based board.  It's the same form factor as an Arduino Mega board, but it's powered by a PIC32 running at 80MHz.  This is an 80MHz MIPS CPU too (a RISC CPU you'll see all over the place, and is somewhat similar to ARM) that has integrated USB and Ethernet support.  Not to mention 512k of flash and 128k of SRAM.  That's a lot of horsepower for a little board.  And it's only $50, that's not bad at all.

How to connect Rover 5 with arduino?

Simple connection for Rover 5 to arduino.

It's possible to connect Rover 5 to Arduino withous a Dagu - 4 Channel DC Motor Controller with Encoder Support .

Please manuals, tips, very new into this..

Thanks in advance!!

Electric braking

I'm working on an RC car and was thinking about the braking. The idea is: I'm driving at full speed and need to turn. Obviously, because my car is going to break the land speed limits ( ;) ), it cannot take the turn at full speed so I'll need to slow down. Now, just releasing the throttle won't be enough, so I'll have to brake extra somehow. I was thinking about giving slight reverse throttle, so that with PWM, I can handle the braking intensity. Now I don't know what this would mean current-wise.

Aquarduino - The remote controlled aquarium(Arduino inside).

Hello everyone ..

The idea of a remote controlled aquarium and generally the control of it using a common pc has been wandering in my mind .

So I decided to start making one .

The idea is to have a common aquarium that can be controlled remotely(the feeding process, information) through the internet hopefully .

The information the user will get through the page I will make for the project is : Ph level and temperature of the water

RC car

Ok, so I'm working on a plan to bring my little brother's little Niko RC car (you know, these models that suddenly break down for no reason at all after three charges) back to life. The plan is:

  1. Yank out old electronics (fun job, done ^^)
  2. Test steering servo and current draw of drive motor
  3. Build new electronics

Step 2 will be done by tonight but I have a few hickups on step three.

Processing talking Bluetooth

Getting Arduino talking through Bluetooth seems like an easy task. There are plenty of tutorials showing you how to do the initial setups and most Bluetooth modules have their own wiki pages + datasheets you can use. It works, you can make the connection, use a terminal software, send packets back and forth. It's all good. Or is it ?
