Should Arduino based robot kits have the Arduino built in?

Now that I'm learning Arduino I've developed 3 Arduino robot kits. The first was fairly big and can take the Arduino Mega, Duemilanove or Nano. The second two have had the Arduino built directly onto the PCB so that little or no jumper wires are needed.

Which is better? The additional cost of the Arduino built in is less than buying an Arduino board and with all the basic wiring done it is much easier for those new to electronics.

An Arduino and a Playstation 1 Controller

I'm having trouble interfacing a playstation 1 controller with the arduino. the project will eventually be to use it  wirelessly to control a simple robot.

I was wondering if anyone has actually gotten the PSX Library on the arduino website to work and if so how, even if it turns an led on and off.

Hey guys,

It has been a while since my last post.  The Vulcan Five is not looking too good beacuse of the PCB fiasco.  I'm trying to salvage that situation, but its going slowly.  So unfortunately for this coming up competition it will not be entered.

giving life to dead rc vehicles

I’ve found this two rc vehicles on a junk, they are in a very bad condition. The big one has the DC motor burned out, I will try to replace it.. brushless motor maybe.

Still thinking about the name - bot

Hi LMR, been thinking about this robot... for the chassis, i will be using a nitro car chassis, and going to bend it the shape i want, its 2mm pink anodized aluminium(they didnt give colour choices lol)

will be using the tamiya dual gearboxes, havent used them before, so if they aren't what i expect i'll will have to get something else xD

Line Follower Robot using a PIC18F252 microcontroller

I am using C Programming to program a PIC18F252 microcontroller chip that allows a robot to follow a line then change directions in different direction on each end and also senses blockage and goes back. This is my code wich at the moment is giving me problems allowing the robot to change directions in different directions and sense blockage...can anyone see where i am going wrong and help out?????????

my new project

my new project is a bot that helps around the house.i want to make one for my mom i want to have a charging station that it atonomusly charges it self.im probly going to have it eather vacume or sweep with a swiffer pad.im going to use adrino and about 6 servos.for a charging station im going to have a botton on the bak of the bot that triggers a relay so it dose not fry components.

the shell of the bot is eather going to be a plastic case or a form of paper machea. strenthened with chicken wire or fabric so the user could paint it

Basic Triagulation Positioning System

3 Friends and I are building an autonomous tennis ball collecting robot for a 4th year design project for our undergrad.

We need a way for the robot to keep track of its position on the tennis court (in doors) and we are thinking of using 2 beacons to emit signals with a receiver on the robot. Has anybody done something like this before? Has anyone heard of pre-packaged solutions that do just this? A USB module would be ideal (we are using a netbook to control the robot), but we are not at all opposed to building the positioning system from scratch.
