YES it's a robot, NO it doesn't have a microcontroller

I think we need to get of our high horse here and let snyde remarks regarding our own elitism remain silent..

I have seen several comments here stating that a robot has to have brains to be a robot. Now, where is that rule written in stone? Does it have to run around on tabletops, using skid steering, detecting cereal boxes by IR or ultrasound, have blinking LEDs or follow black lines on a piece of cardboard to be a robot?

Cheap Servvos

Can anyone recommend a website where a servo is inexpensive?

Can anyone recommend where I can get Tupperware containers online? See, I'm working on a couple robot projects, and I was hoping to use a simple tupperware container as the robot chasis.

Line follower on steroids

Japanese guy made a line following race car. I think theres some kind of race competition.

Checking through his blog hes got a nice machine shop at his disposal too :( Lucky bugger.

Robot Website Question

I'm currently thinking about making a robot community portal website(sort of similar to newgrounds) after I obtain money to build my second robot. I was thinking about offering free swag from my cafepress store as prizes for monthly contests held on the site. Would robot enthusists really want free t-shirts,buttons,stickers,etc as prizes, or would they want hardcore robot parts? I'm sorry if this seems like spam, but I wanted to ask a community who has expertise in this field.

My Robot Butler

Not to take users off this site but updating two postings of this is getting tiring. From now on you can find info about this project here. I will leave the funny video up.

i am FINALLY starting my project!!!! i am gonna order them soon. If it wasn't for this site, i wouldn't be interested in robots at all. *GASP!* thanks guys!

Motor driver

Well.. Ever since I found this page (through ing.dk) I've been dying to build my first robot.

I have bough all the parts I need, and i've been trying to modify an RC toy car, but i have blown up the motor driver in it :D. I tried with the 293D, but it couldn't take the current. So right now i'm just stuck...

Help Designing Your Robot

As said in sociatyofrobots.com, designing is the most important stage of robot building. I spent no time designing Turpis, and that's most likely why it turned out so bad. However, I'm an awful artist, and I need to find a more efficient way to plan. I've tried my hand at Sketchup, and it is uncooperative with my computers. Are there any easy-to-use free software out there?

Programming Microcontrollers

I wanted to make a robot useing a microcontroller. But I have had trouble over time trying to program a microcontroller.

Would it bother anyone to write an article on programming a microcontroller?

How can I add Wifi to my robot?

I'm new to robotics but have dabbled in Microcontrollers the last few years and develop software for a living. One thing I've been dreaming of doing for awhile is builting a blimp robot that is controlled over wifi, but I can't seem to find information on is how to connect microcontrollers to some sort of wifi interface. I'm hoping there's some sort of module somewhere that I can interface with.

Here's the plan:

I am going to build a robot that can play drums!

There you go!

.. OK, maby not drums, but at least play on things in a funky way!
