Let's Make Robots!

robot

Avoiding obstacles code.

Hi all.

I have started making a small robot the RMOAR http://letsmakerobots.com/node/20422

but im having some problems with the code i tried to made in order to get this thing working.

I dont know if that code will work and how can i improve it .

Here is the code:

Robots can have children too!

For some time now projects like RepRap have been aimed at self reproducing robots. Although this was not my original goal I have taken a step towards achieving this.

After a few days of trying to get an Arduino to burn the bootloader onto a blank ATmega chip I have finally had some success. As a result, robots lying about my office waiting for repairs are now capable of burning a bootloader into a blank chip.

Should Arduino based robot kits have the Arduino built in?

Now that I'm learning Arduino I've developed 3 Arduino robot kits. The first was fairly big and can take the Arduino Mega, Duemilanove or Nano. The second two have had the Arduino built directly onto the PCB so that little or no jumper wires are needed.

Which is better? The additional cost of the Arduino built in is less than buying an Arduino board and with all the basic wiring done it is much easier for those new to electronics.

An Arduino and a Playstation 1 Controller

I'm having trouble interfacing a playstation 1 controller with the arduino. the project will eventually be to use it  wirelessly to control a simple robot.

I was wondering if anyone has actually gotten the PSX Library on the arduino website to work and if so how, even if it turns an led on and off.

here are some links

Attempt At Making Robot Wheels

Hey guys,

It has been a while since my last post.  The Vulcan Five is not looking too good beacuse of the PCB fiasco.  I'm trying to salvage that situation, but its going slowly.  So unfortunately for this coming up competition it will not be entered.

However recently I have been experimenting with making my own robot wheels for maximum grippage on my sumos.  Here are some puctures of the results.

giving life to dead rc vehicles

I’ve found this two rc vehicles on a junk, they are in a very bad condition. The big one has the DC motor burned out, I will try to replace it.. brushless motor maybe.

They both have two different gear mode (hi and low speed), I am wishing to try it out.

Robots Community and Tutorials www.botstop.net

Hello every at Lets Make Robots, Happy Birthday.

I would like to make you aware of a website I am starting up, BotStop.NET. You can upload your robot to have it reviewed by others in the robotics community, read and make suggestions towards robotics tutorials, take part in competitions to win parts and components for your creations, or chat in the forums.

Still thinking about the name - bot

Hi LMR, been thinking about this robot... for the chassis, i will be using a nitro car chassis, and going to bend it the shape i want, its 2mm pink anodized aluminium(they didnt give colour choices lol)

will be using the tamiya dual gearboxes, havent used them before, so if they aren't what i expect i'll will have to get something else xD

here's some skecth uping of what i expect to have:
