Mini Maker Faire ShenZhen 2013

Maker Faire has once again come to ShenZhen, China thanks to Seeed Studio. Unfortunately I was only there for about 9 hours on the first day. I'm sorry I have not documented this very well, I was at the DAGU table most of the day. I have now added photos from my friends camera's as well.

I think Maker Faires, even Mini Maker Faires are something that cannot be explained with a few photos and videos. You really need to be there to truely appreciate them.

Swarm Robot build

Hey LMRians!

It's been quite a long time that I haven't been here (mostly due to being in the second last year of school and other projects). Recentlly I got interested in robotics again and I came up with the idea of building swarm robots (just a little group of maybe 10 bots, not 40+ that the universities use).

Here I want to describe my thought process a little and then ask some questions.

So my first goal is to make it relatively small, something of the size like the robots seen in this excellent video by the University of Sheffield (see embedded video below).

Recently my company has been asked to demonstrate a robot that can perform an enviromentally friendly task. I only have about 1 month to complete the robot and I'm … Read more

Still looking for ideas for an environmentally friendly robot

This is an old post, ignore the request for ideas. I just added videos for any who were curious to see it in action.

I have been asked to build a robot for display that fits the theme "Save the environment". Basically the robot must perform a function that helps the environment. This robot must be something I can build in a few weeks from available (DAGU) parts although I can order some parts like sensors that DAGU don't make.

I have a few ideas but I would like to know, what sort of job do you think a robot can do to help improve the environment?

New Playful Puppy kit from DAGU

The new Playful Puppy robot kit from DAGU will be available from April 2013! This new version of the robot is smaller and easier to wire up. Magnetic clutches have been included on the pan / tilt assembly. The manual now explains the code in detail to make it easier to understand and modify.

Integrated Project at college!

i Want to direct a robot,s path using C language !

i have seen your basic robot which uses Sharp infrared system ! It will actually do my work but the problem lies here is that it is based on picaxe. now i wanna know taht if these codes for controlling the robot can be generated in Turbo C. or can these ic's and the servo motors with the programming cable will be able to work with C or do i need to just change everything in the line up accordingly ! m new here so ill be really glad if helped !

i know basic C programming ! also i know nothing about PICAXE !

The Doctor's Robotic Assistant!--THE MEDIBOT!

Hello, LMR!

I've been thinking about my research project for this summer for the Authentic Science Research course that I participate in, and I've had some ideas for what I might be accomplishing.  **NOTE**--this is currently just an idea, so nothing on this is final yet.  When it is, you will know.

Lego Mindstorm C# USB

Hi there,

I have a quesiton to those of you who are familiar with Lego Mindstorms NXT brick and also C#

How can I transfer a robot C file I have created to the brick, via USB, using C#?

You don't have to give me code just point me in the right direction

Thanks

Harvey

Testing the wheeled version

As announced in our previous post, we are working on wheeled version of our robot. Tires and shaft adapters are arrived today and we mount them to conduct first test drive. Here are some photos:

QUESTION - Grid tracking robot

Hello,

I am completely new to robot building and, in turn, new to this forum. I am currently studying Computer Science so I may be able to use some of what I know already to help.

Anyway, I have a basic idea in my head but I am asking for a little help on, how you think, it could work. It seems relatively easy in my head - for those that are used to robot building;

Line Following Sensors

Hello everyone,

I am making a line following robot for a competition in Australia called "Robocup Junior". It involves following a line, also, taking shortucts indicated by a green square. At the suggestion of one of the friendly LMRians I invested in an IR Sensor board that can follow the line perfectly. The only problem I have been having is that white and green have the same readings (must be a problem with infra-RED and GREEN being different, or something:)

So I am creating this thread to see if anyone has had any experience with any light or colour (color) sensors.

The new "Shark" model of our robot

Last year we spend considerable amount of time building the new version of our robotics vehicle. Here is the result - the small tracked vehicle which might be intereresting for researchers in robotcs, AI, computer vision as well as for DIY enthusiasts. All the model, assembling instructions and software are open source.

beginer in electronics needs to program

hi, im a twelve year old boy who is not an expert  AT ALL, but knows the basics

i've made bristlebots, speaker tones, dc motor cars  and other stuff

BUT

when i have to program  in arduino UNO i just copy other codes from other people

cause...  I dont know how to program at all!!!! i think arduino's language is c,and i don't know  how to program

anybody knows how to program arduino

and can give me a little tutorial about key words and etcetera like setup, delay, control of dc motors sensor etc...
