Now that robot #1 is almost complete, (Ajax Harbinger of the Robot Apocalypse, robot entry coming soon), I have begun to plan out robot #2.

I have  renbotics ServoShield and I have made a code on arduino where from serialport I can send commads to servos and it happens with that way... S01P1200,S14P2300etc..I mean that  Servo 1 to 1200 posion and servo 14 to 2300 posion

The Social drink Machine

Well, the Romanians at Robofun have built a drink mixing robot. It's not looking like the famous Bar2D2, it's looking more like a 2 axis CNC machine, but it has it's share of coolness. To order a drink, you scan the bar code with your smart phone, get to the site and choose a drink. Then wait for a bar code to be displayed on your phone, place a glass in the machine and show the bar code to the machine's webcam.

Wavefront Algorithm Mapping

Hi, LMRians. I've been reading up on this Wavefront Algorithm Navigation and I understand bits and pieces of it, but not everything. I'm trying to learn up on it so I can use it in my next robot : Project 4L-FRED (Alfred), a butler robot. The robot is suppose to navigate around the house from the dining area to the living room and serve drinks to guests. Artist, first time robot creator

Hi everyone. I'm an art student who's doing my instillation for my Advanced Drawing class on automated art and the creative power of robots. Needless to say I'm quite lost when it comes to the mechanics of it. I got ideas, but ideas don't mean shit if they're not backed up by knowledge. That's why I'm asking you guys for help, and hopefully I can take the advice and use it to make some really effective pieces.

As you can guess, I am making a new robot, and it is a small sumo!
- Picaxe 14M
- 2 modified micro servos
- 1 LDR to see the line of the ring
- Sharp IR sensor
- Bottle cap wheels until I make up a better solution (Yes, lol :D)

And when I will receive parts, or get something done, I am going to update this until it is time to post a robot!
Tomorrow (I think) I'm going to post schematics and maybe printed layout ready to make it pcb!

I was perusing all the amateur DIY near-space balloon flights that have been gaining popularity lately, and a thought hit me.

Would it be possible to have a two stage flight; first stage would be the balloon and payload reaching a certain altitude. The second stage, when this specific altitude is reached, a ROCKET is fired from within the payload, taking it further into space (hopefully reaching escape velocity.
