QUESTION - Grid tracking robot

Hello,

I am completely new to robot building and, in turn, new to this forum. I am currently studying Computer Science so I may be able to use some of what I know already to help.

 

Anyway, I have a basic idea in my head but I am asking for a little help on, how you think, it could work. It seems relatively easy in my head - for those that are used to robot building;

 

Line Following Sensors

Hello everyone,

I am making a line following robot for a competition in Australia called "Robocup Junior". It involves following a line, also, taking shortucts indicated by a green square. At the suggestion of one of the friendly LMRians I invested in an IR Sensor board that can follow the line perfectly. The only problem I have been having is that white and green have the same readings (must be a problem with infra-RED and GREEN being different, or something:)

So I am creating this thread to see if anyone has had any experience with any light or colour (color) sensors.

hi, im a twelve year old boy who is not an expert  AT ALL, but knows the basics

i've made bristlebots, speaker tones, dc motor cars  and other stuff

BUT

when i have to program  in arduino UNO i just copy other codes from other people

cause...  I dont know how to program at all!!!! i think arduino's language is c,and i don't know  how to program

 

anybody knows how to program arduino

and can give me a little tutorial about key words and etcetera like setup, delay, control of dc motors sensor etc...

Adventures In Robots: Robot #2 Bert the Bling Bot

I have  renbotics ServoShield and I have made a code on arduino where from serialport I can send commads to servos and it happens with that way... S01P1200,S14P2300etc..I mean that  Servo 1 to 1200 posion and servo 14 to 2300 posion

Ideas needed for a quiet, high quality, small form factor chassis, wheels, and motors.

I'm looking for a source of a small (think deck of cards size) chassis for a robot.  I'm not interested in two wheel or cheap robots, I'd like a decent aluminum or plexi chassis with some higher quality motors and wheels.  Anyone have an idea or recommendation?
