What does it do?

Object avoidance

This is the start of "Plank." My first successful attempt at a robot.

The base is made from a 3mm thick 4x12 inch piece of plywood. Wheels are model airplane wheels bolted on to servo horns. I modified two Futaba servos for continous rotation for locomotion. The tail wheel is a tamiya ball caster. I tried a couple of other casters but they were either too heavy or they didn't rotate well.

What does it do?

Made up of Pic16F84A and L293 dc motor driver, read switches as a sensor and the rest of the parts are common.

Made this one while waiting for my servos from China (about 6 weeks now).

I've found the tamiya tracks aren't up to the task, so I don't think he'll last too long befor being recycled.

What does it do?

Play with pets

This is a pet toy robot, not a pet robot like Aibo

But children like it more than pets do

this is second prototype of my Pettoybot. First one was on $10 toy RC car platform. but it runs too wild, so I made this gentle two wheel one caster version.

Mission of this robot is play with pet. So I give him a sensor to detect pets movement and tell him to follow the movement of pets.

Rebuilding the Robosnail

Navigates very slowly, possibly to enter another challenge

Robosnail was my first working robot. For nostalga, maybe a challenge entry, and just to have it running again, I'll attempt a rebuild this fun little robot, addiing some of the components previously used, and improving a couple others. In it's intial configuration, Robosnail used CDs as wheels, but that had a few traction problems. The current wheels are scavenged baby stroller wheels, which a set screw has been added to, that attach to a couple of Canon gearmotors.

What does it do?

Lifts Objects

This is for the Olympics challenge. It can lift heavy things(for its size and its own weight). It lifts thingsand holds them up for 3 seconds. And then, after it puts the object to the ground again, It says "Fantastic !" after it succeds.

Well, actually, even I was surprised when it lift that rock !

Rebounder, a conversion job

What does it do?

Navigates a preprogrammed sequence of timed moves

Rebounder is a quick little platform that had been adapted from a Tyco Super Rebound RC car. The original radio receiver electronics were removed, and an IsoPod driving 2 5A h-bridges were installed. The original battery was used, as were it's contacts and the original power switch. Rebounder in basic form takes a momentary switch sensor as input, to begin the programmed sequence.

What does it do?

29-Sep-08 - Finally....POWER!

So, after a lot of playing with different power sources, I decided to go with some good quality, 3A low drop-out linear regulators. I'm still playing with the boost circuit, but I didn't want it slowing down this project, so they are diverging for now and hopefully I will add it back in later.

Attack and participate in epee

This is for The Olympic Competitions ! This is for participating in fencing. Thanks Frits for making great challenges ! I'll post a video. This is a robot which attacks with its "blade" when it sees a foe !

I really wanted to enter the Olympics Competition because I found it interesting. Now, RUN Away before my robot attacks xD
