Let's Make Robots!

So i have a IR detector and it is hooked up to an arduino i have programed it with the help of this blog http://www.arcfn.com/2009/08/multi-protocol-infrared-remote-library.html i am doing the example that is named " How to recieve"

Problem: whenever i click a button on my remote the number 0 apeers on the serial monitor. What does that mean?

Idea: Self adjusting IR detector

Hi all,

For some time I've been playing with IR sensors, trying to get some "eyes" for my little bot here:  http://letsmakerobots.com/node/19894

It is based on the IR Compond Eye design from Oddbot only smaller because I want to use two of them on the bot to get a very approximative distance measurement.

Here is a version much alike Oddbot's but with only one phototransistor and 4 IR leds, and a 10K resistor instead of 4K7 to get a little better sensitivity from the transistor :

I have started working on a new robot that is mainly based on LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT. This robot is aimed at participating in DTU robocup 2008 but time will tell if it will be finished in time. Anyway in robocup the robot must at least be good at following a black line and preferably it should be able to accomplish other of the tasks at hand as well, and this is just not feasible using the standard LEGO sensors and the very limited number of these it can use at one time.
