tǎnkè

MarkusB's picture

tǎnkè is the Chinese word for tank. I've ordered this monster at taobao and today it arrived. I am looking forward to dismantle and hack it.

The inisde construction is quite interesting. There is a module called Multi Function Unit, which contains several motor drivers, sound effect, etc. The Multi Function Unit is controlled by just one wire, conntected to the RX, probably some kind of PWM.

Good deal on rc tank w/built in video cam.

voodoobot's picture

Hey all.

currently amazon has a damn good deal on an rc tank with built in video camera. On the amazon search, look up spy gear. you should find the atv 360 for 51 bux(as of apirl 19th). This thing usually goes for about 130 so imo it's a damn good deal.

I bought the the spy video car($50 as well) a while back and managaged to pull the camera gear off. The stuff is pretty cool for the price. I'm still working on the car, but figured I'd grab this tracked version as well since it was a good price.

Where to start...

Alright, I'm kind of stuck in my mind where to begin.  I have my idea together but not sure on what board to get and where to go after that.  I have the following board:

I set out to make an aggresive little tank and I got this far. It runs like a dream when I put a battery directly on the motors... in a straigt line. Any ideas on how to control it, so it can turn on a plate. All wireless.
