robotic arm

I'm working on several robotic arms as a hobby.  I've used Hitec robot servos to good results, but I'd like to construct an arm that is strong: capable of lifting 10+ lbs from a 24" arm.   Obviously, hobby servos aren't going to work.

What kinds of servos (are they stepper motors?) are used in larger scale robots?

i really need your guidance. i m making a robot which have to performs two task: line following + box placing..

it must be heavy in weight, because of its body and robotic arm (for picking a box, sense its color and then place it in a chamber of same color )

my first task is to select motors .....i search motors a lot but cant find best....my robot weight lie in this range 10 kg- 14kg

I want to make a robot for my final year project featuring a vehicle which will have simple movements and a robotic arm which can grab things. Other than this it should have a good camera mounted on it which will stream live video and this robot should be controlled wirelessly. Now can someone help me to select

1. Which microcontroller should i use to do this all?
2. How should i transmit video wirellessly?(I dont want to use wireless camera)
