Homemade Arduino board not in sync with Arduino IDE

Hi,

I flashed a blank Atmega328 chip with an AVR dragon lended.

That chip was running nicely on the breadboad it had been flashed on.

I could program it with arduino IDE, through a uno board without it's chip.

Then I built a small board for that chip.

The program (blinking LED) is working properly, but I can't reprogram it with arduino IDE anymore.

I got the message :

"avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0x00"

What is an ATMEGA328P

I'm about to start my first robot using Arduino, and I wonder what that long rectangular chip is. I later find out it is called the ATMEGA328P. What is it? Is it like a data storage for the code? If not, what does it do?

Alright ! After a haitus and some odd but trivial glitches I am finally happy to declare the birth of ANTROBOT Ver 1.0.0. Its a 2 legged creature with a single … Read more

FREE Atmel/AVR chips of your choice!

Okay, i know some of you think i'm mad, but if you have an Arduino at home, and want to buy some blank AVR chips on Ebay and bootloader/program them, DON'T! Instead, why not get them totally FREE from the manufacturer themselves? All you need is to do sign up at the Manucfaturer : Atmel website and you are good to go.

Bob is born

Well, thanks to not being allowed to alter Serenit-e's looks, I have a spare set of tracks & a dual-motor gearbox to work with - seems a shame to let them go to waste.

Bob is going to be a test-bed for trying out any new circuitry I come up with, such as controller boards, sensors, displays etc.

cr2cX - The long story

cr2cX was born as a robotic platform to test and experiment various concepts of the robotics field.

Because I have designed and build a robot 16 years ago I considered that it will be useful to start again and teach my kid some things. I have taken the hard way by designing and building every module and piece of software. To be able to speed the building and experiments a little, I've taken some shortcuts:

Navigate and avoids obstacles

i cant load a code on to my atmega328

hello, sorry for my bad english ... i am french.and new to this... anyway i just bought several atmega328 , i am using a 3-pin external ceramic oscillator i tried to upload a code into it and i get a (500sdk error) ( the default arduino bootloader is aparently already on the chip , as my furnisher mentioned , plus i get the pin 13  to fade-in as the default arduino code)

anyway i tried to make a paralellprogramer ... noting to do i get an error message i am not able to eigther burn the bootloader or load a code

Arduino servo twitching

Servo twitching. I know, simple stuff, but it's interesting to play with on new hardware. Another Arduino example "sketch" (they got a number of these) called Sweep simply moves a servo through a set range, back and forth. Just looking at the sketch (listed at bottom) this timeshows a servo controlsignla connected to pin 9. They recommend using the boards 5 volts to power the servo, which is coming from the USB connection. If I'd had a bigger servo, or was under load, it might be appraoching the 500 mA USB limit (or is it more now?).
