Driving a ride on toy car motor

Hi folks,

As part of a project I'm building I need to create a rotating platform and I recently salvaged a DC motor and its gear train from a ride on toy car, so I thought if it can scoot a child around it should have enough torque for this application. The problem is that I'm not sure how to drive it.

Selling: Mindstorms NXT 1st generation

I am disparingly seeking money to buy parts to dive into the world of hobby robotics. I'll need some 400$ for my first order and I decided to sell just about anything I can. So here goes my NXT... Anyone interested? I'll post details and stuff if someone's interested.

presentation anxiety

I used to work as a techy in theatre, and loved the part where a artist would come to us with a vision or idea, and we had to transform it into actual stuff. They would come in and say "and in the end she is eaten by a dragon" And we'd set about making an exitpoint on stage with lots of fake fangs and fire and smoke, a couple of lamps indicating dragon eyes and scary noises over the speakers.

Well, I've stopped doing that now, but picked up a hobby along the way: robots.

Navigates around via ultrasound, turns on the lights when it gets darker, looks just awful and feels raped.

Jansen Walker Toy (sized) Bot

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here, don't be rough.

I stumbled on the this site about a month ago while doing research on a bot i'm building that's similar to Rik's current Jansen Leg project, that's actually what I was searching for when I found the site.

Anyway, I wanted all of you input on my project, my version uses a similar leg design and I'm curently planning on powering it with two servos and an Arduino-clone.

Now what is that I'm reading? This one robot got destroyed in a fire? And its Infra Red sensor was tested following what kind of IR emitter?! Maybe use an LED next time...
