What does it do?

produce chaotic drawings with his pen

Adding some infos:

I use LDR for two purposes:
1) gather random bits in order to affect motor speed (PWM)
2) determine if the robot is stuk. Comparing subsequent readings i got a delta. If the delta i always near 0 then the robot is stuck in a corner so I reverse the motor to bouce off the wall.
That's all, no much complexity. Great differences in the drawings can be obtained changhing legs lenght and material and sliding the motor position a bit forward or backward on the body.

What does it do?

Autonomous robot that roams the world looking for places to jam...

First and foremost I would like to thank Fritzl for coming up with this masterpiece in the first place. If it wasn't for him I would have not gotten into robotics at all. Yes this is my first robot, but I have been an electronics nut all my life, so I figured I was up for the challenge. Overall it was the most enjoyable 60+ hours of work I have done in a while.

What does it do?

navigates using ultrasonic

This is the first proper robot built by us. its based on the 'my first robot' by fritsl, can you tell?

it took a few hours to put together, then about double that for programming! not my strong point!

it is based on the picaxe 28x1, with a srf05 ultrasound jobby for 'sight'.

we had a go at using the ringtone wizard to, it worked well

Wanders around and grabs your stuff

Update 2010-02-04: Uploaded new primary image.

Still building, but here is GRAB-E. So-named because of the WALL-E style track configuration and the fact that I will build my first gripper for this bot.

Interfacing a PICAXE with an RC Servo

I have added a video to show the picaxe modifying the servo signal based on the output from a Maxbotix EZ0 (EZ1 version here at LMR). The following image is also from that setup. The new code is attached (test code 2.0).

What does it do?

Avoid objects and able to be controlled by radio remote, avoids running into walls in RC mode by the SRF05

Marvin is a lot faster than Jasper. My wife named him.

Right now he can just avoid objects with his SRF05 and is able to be controlled with a radio remote. The transmitter and reciever were only 10 bucks at walmart. lol. Just bought a toy car and gutted it for the parts. :D

Right now the radio receiver is not controlling the motor controller directly. It is connected to the analog pins on the Picaxe and controlled programaticly.

The video shows him in both modes. Below are some additional pictures.

Avoid objects, navigate around via ultrasound, can lock on in scan mode

Jasper is my version of the start here robot. He has a Picaxe 28x1 v A.5 brain. (Finally got my updated chip today!)

He just avoids objects right now.

Right now he just has 1 servo, 2 geared G3 motors with tracks, and the Picaxe 28x1 vA.5 firmware.

I have added the code which I modified from the start here robot and the how to on the SRF005 node.

Navigate around

The Robotwo is inspired by fritsl "how to make your first robot".
My goal is to let the robot drive around my living room without any human interfering.
However my living room being a bit of mess sometimes thats not so easy.
Robotwo uses 2 switches configured as a bumber, and the ultrasonic sensors SRF05. The SRF05 is mounted on 2 servos so the sensor can look horizontal and vertical.

This part is not so much instructions of how to build & program, that was in Part I-II.

To finalize Part I-II, I will just say; I may put “construction time” to a few hours when entering a robot. And it is possible to make a robot in 10 minutes if you have the materials in front of you.

What does it do?

Drives around and finds stuff to play drums on. Samples what it plays, and play to the samples.
