Let's Make Robots!

where can i find these vex pieces?

okay, I have been scouring google trying to find the parts for the vex rcr mini walker crab thing, which should be displayed.

all the results I have found have been things like press announcements and demo robots built witgh this stuff, and none of it recent.

I personally want to build that walker, obviously with some extra personal touches added on, but I just cannot find the parts. every place seems to indicate that they were released, so did I just miss a limited run component or something?

Vex Electronics

This is just a tip (which I learned today through others on this site, thanks guys)

All Vex electronics are self regulated.

Which means that even though they say you must use their battery's, you can run any battery between 6v and 12v without drama.

For example, I'm running a 12v nimh 5000 pack on my robot with a regular Molex/Tamiya connector.

The 2010 BEST Robotics competition kicked off on Saturday. The game is called Total Recall. As usual, the students can only use what they are given and I have included a few pictures of a standard materials kit.

Hello

Im envisaging on building my first robot, so would greatly appreciate any advice.

About me > I've some basic programming skills through GW-Basic and QuickBASIC which i learnt nearly 10yrs back. I suck at C programming, and am not well versed with microcontrollers/electronics, although im sure i can learn (maybe not C!!). Mechanically, im sure i can conjure up something fairly decent, if not pathetic!

Labyrinth Line Follower Advice Please

I wish to build an autonomous robot capable of navigating a human sized labyrinth at our local senior center.  I need to make it mostly from VEX parts programmed in RobotC.

Ok. I have started my first custom robot! I'm going to call him "Luigi" cuz he was going to be controlled by an Arduino, but I decided not to. But its a cool … Read more

Check out Marlin P Jones for a Vex RC setup for $9.95. Note that pulse seperation is still needed to get 6 seperate servo pulses out of the reciever, with methods shown in a post here.
