TheOther1's picture

No bigger than a thumb, the human-shaped Robo-Q can kick a football, find its way out of a maze and dodge unexpected obstacles.

ARRG my track kit is missing

Well, I ordered the solarbotics track set earlier this month and it was supposed to arrive on the 16th but so far its a no show D:

I dont know what to do.. unfortunately I used the standard post option which is untrackable and uninsured so I am probably up the proverbial creek without a paddle. There was a typhoon that came across south east asia last week so I`m  hoping and praying it just got delayed a bit. Although with my luck its floating around somewhere in the middle of the pacific ocean -.-

Promising things on the horizon for LetsMakeRobots.com

TheCowGod's picture

Hey guys. I just wanted to give you an update on the upcoming changes we've got planned for the site. A month or two ago, after being frustrated at how limited our access to LMR's webserver was, I messaged Frits and offered to host the website on my own server. That way we would have the access to develop all the kinds of things we have in mind to continue improving the site and implementing all the great ideas we get.

MCU for custom i2c motor driver

Nicola's picture

Ok supposing that i want to make my own motor controller, i'd like it to be controlled by i2c. What microcontroller could i use that can be used as i2c slave? Afaik, picaxe can only work as master, right ?

Possibly someone that doesn't need an hardware programmer :)

Promising Wheel and Track set for bigger, more robust robots

I had an idea for an outdoor ROV and decided that a tracked vehicle would be best suited for the job.  It would need a track set much more robust than the little Tamiya set, but I wouldn't want to drop big bucks on tracks and the YDR tracks couldn't handle wet grass.  I found these.  They look promising for outdoor projects or even just a larger project that might be a bit heavy for the Tamiya tracks.  When assembled the track base would be a bit under a foot long.  This makes way for the use of bet

YES it's a robot, NO it doesn't have a microcontroller

I think we need to get of our high horse here and let snyde remarks regarding our own elitism remain silent..

I have seen several comments here stating that a robot has to have brains to be a robot. Now, where is that rule written in stone? Does it have to run around on tabletops, using skid steering, detecting cereal boxes by IR or ultrasound, have blinking LEDs or follow black lines on a piece of cardboard to be a robot?

Robot Archive

Here is a link to a very interesting archive of as many big money funded Robots that I have seen in one place. Great place to get design idea's and read about technologies the big boys are using.
