How to Choose an Electric Motor

Finally I am sick of mowing my lawn, and am starting to plan a robotic lawn mower.

I would like to use one of these batteries (12V Li-ion) on the mower.

Hello, this is my cousins 1975 Spectrum DX electric guitar. I've been learning to play it and wanted to do a couple popular upgrades. After a bunch of hounding … Read more

A peek inside an electric bike motor

I have started on a new project and decided to use electric bike motors. I though some of you would be interested to know what's inside. These motors have good power and torque so no gearbox is required and with all those small windings inside they allow fairly precise control of speed and direction without any mechanical play.

As I want these motors for a robotic project I did not buy the speed controller normally used as it would not suit my needs. Electric bike controllers do not normally have reverse. Now I am building my own.

Lowest RPM of an electric bike motor?

What is the lowest possible RPM of an electric bike motor?  It seems to be the cheapest alternative to a slow gearmotor.  Thanks.
