AXE031 servo controller - set speed?

Ant's picture

Hi Everyone

Can someone (frits I know you have done it) help me with the AXE031 sevo controller board. I've got it working based on the example in the instructions (http://www.rev-ed.co.uk/docs/axe031.pdf), but I can't figure out how to control the servo speed. Any chance of some sample code?

Thanks guys.

SPE030 - anyone used one?

Has anyone had any experience with the SPE030 speech synthesizer? I just want to know what it sounds like, I've done a google search but didn't come up with anything.

Thanks

header pins question

Does picaxe 28x1 microcontroller board use 0.60 - 1.0mm header pins (round or square).

Problems with i2c (and an LCD display)

Nicola's picture

So, i just wasted an evening trying to make an LCD with i2c work with my picaxe.

I connected the SCL and SDA of the board to the other end on the LCD. (of course not crossing them :P)  BTW on the picaxe the pins are: Digital input 3 = SCL; Digital input 4 = SDA, am i right ?

If so, other question is: do i need the two pullup resistors ? i've read somewhere that they're already there on the board. But if so, the pin should be high most of the time, shouldn't it ? testing with my voltmeter reads 0V.

PS i have the picaxe 28x1.

Trouble using my Picaxe 28X

Scheda's picture

I posted this on the Picaxe forums, but they haven't been able to diagnose my issue yet, so I'll come to you now.

I'm using the Picaxe 28x starter pack with a USB cord.

I have both of the drivers installed, and both the software and my PC are set for COM5, which (I think) should make the two talk to each other... it's not working though.

Perhaps this short clip may help you out a little.

You may not be able to read the text, so here is the error that pops up.

Where do I hook the speaker up?

Scheda's picture

So I ordered a original Gameboy off ebay a few days back, but after I ordered it I realised that half the screen didn't work. Pooey. Anyway, so since it was just a couple bucks, I figured I'd use it for parts.

I just de'soddered' a bunch of components, yay, one of which being the speaker. So I hooked it up to a battery to see what would happen, and I got a couple little scratches, which means it works.

Anyway, so I want to hook it up to my picaxe so I can play with it, which I have yet to do since I don't have all my pieces yet...

Picaxe 18 and Ping

jgillick's picture

I just picked up a Parallax Ping distance sensor from my local Radio Shack and am trying to figure out to how hook it into my Picaxe 18 project board.

The ping uses a single pin for both input and output.  It first requires a trigger pulse to be sent and then it responds with a variable length pulse that determines the distance.  Can a Picaxe pin be switched from output to input?  If not, can I connect 2 pins to the single Ping pin?  Normally I would jut go ahead and try it, but I don't want to fry my Picaxe or the sensor.

Serial Terminal help

I'm trying to work out something similar to what fritsl had with his "see what robot sees" post: http://letsmakerobots.com/node/316.

Every time i open the Serial terminal window i get gibberish:

what the serial terminal is displaying

Sharp Range Sensor gives inconsistent results

jgillick's picture

I'm trying to use a Sharp range sensor (http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/136) on the Picaxe 18x project board but I seem to be getting bad results.  When the sensor is not facing anything within range, the analog input jumps around 95 - 110 in the debug window.  When an object gets closer the results seem to be more accurate, but still jumps around a little bit.

Difficulty connecting Srf05 to Picaxe28x1

MaltiK's picture

OK, at first I tried using the PCB connector thing (white, thick, multiple wire wires) and it got annoying because I wasnt certain which clip would be for which wire, and now I am facing even more diffilcuties. I took apart a computer recently to find spare parts, and I found a couple 4 pin female ports, I conected a couple wires to it, and isolated the one at the end, a yellow one. Now, I dont know If I did it right, but I attempted to solder the one wire to the actual board, was I supposed to?
