Have you been a good boy?

Then you might ask Santa for an oscilloscope. I bought this a month ago and are extremely pleased with it http://www.dealexcel.com/rigol-ds1052e-50mhz-band-widths-2channel-digital-oscilloscope_p363.html

Just got 1st picture out from my oscilloscope

I got Rigol DS1052E oscilloscope out from the customs today. Unfortunately I haven't got much time to play with it yet. However I managed to get one screenshot out from it. Here's a capture from ATMega8's XTAL1 when the chip is run with 16MHz crystal:

Looks nice. More about the scope when I figure out how it works, what I can do with it and what to write about it :-)

VB programming help wanted! Plotting serial data.

Hi guys, I`m attempting my own low speed arduino oscilloscope but have hit a brick wall with my mediocre programming skills. The arduino program and input stage works fine, it`s the PC software thats killing me.

You may think this is a strange tip, but I am very serious; Someone should have tipped me: Get an oscilloscope!
I am sorry if this seams like a strange tip. But the point with the tips are to let other know what you have ecperienced / learned / would have wished someone would … Read more

Serial oscilloscope

Hi guys,

I'm currently programming a software oscilloscope based on C++ and DirectX, thus the performance is very good. It works directly off the serial/COM ports. I was just wondering..is anyone else interested in such a thing?

I'm programming it for my Arduino BUT it should be able to work with Picaxe(or anything else) too. It's not gonna be a fancy pro application, but it works pretty damn well :) For now it's rather limited since it only accepts 8 bit values...well for now...

No need for oscilloscope, nut cracked, bright debugging ahead!

I do not have an oscilloscope, and I "always" wanted one. "So I could debug & understand & see what was going on".

Yesterday I got so frustrated that my cheap RF still was not 100% rock solid - even though I had made all sorts of initializing strings.

i got so desperate that I decided to buy a used oscilloscope. While checking out what was on sale in my area, I got the idea that perhaps I could make one myself..

That got me to look into .. "perhaps someone out there made a SW oscilloscope - how hard could that be?
