Ok, to begin with it is just a normal SparkFun "new product post" but check out the last few minutes of the video. They mounted a potato cannon on a 6WD Wild Thumper chassis!

I have fried my 4 channel motor driver and don't know how this can happpen. As you can see in the picture the Dual FET IC  U10 for motor 4 is blown away. This happened during a first test of my IOIO-SHR v2 robot. Before connecting the motor driver the program has been tested with an oscilloscope, all Outputs are working as expected. All connections has been double checked. Power supply testet with an voltmeter. Each PWM pin can be controlled from the Android phone with a Slider of my test app. PWM frequency was 1kHz.

As I sit here with a tricked out Rover 5, a 4channel motor controller and a Mega 2650, it occurs to me just how much I'm asking of a poor little, (well, for an Atmel--Maybe not so little.) microcontroller.

And so I wonder. . .Have you given any thought to a "Spider Due?"

SO, having completed my holiday obligations, it's time for a little present from me TO me.  I've been collecting assorted parts, and experimenting with Arduino code and have decided that pretty much everything I want to do with a robot base can be most efficiently, cost-effectively accomplished with a Rover 5, and it's at the top of my "Been a good boy" list.

The only thing I don't like about it is those rubber treads that seem to keep falling off.  And since it's my intention to get the Rover 5 with 4 motors and encoders, I've decided to go with independent wheels.

Hi. I want to power a Dagu Qadbot without sources, only batteries, but don't know the best way to Do it. It uses 8 micro servo - 8g, 4~6V, and draw a current that I don't know the specific value as I didn't find a Datasheet.

 

So, as I'm almost sure that only Arduino will not be able to power the 8 servos, I'm thinking about 2 solutions:

 

1st - Use 4AA Battery to power - the Arduino i parallel with the servos. This way I'd power the servos directly and just connect the digital pin to the arduino.

I have been designing products for DAGU for over 2 years now. During this time I have always tried to provide technical support and help in general here on LMR. I will still continue to do so but previously I had trouble uploading manuals because of upload limits.

Hi guys, Hope this is the right forum. I'm building a robot based on the Dagu Rover 5 chassis and experiencing problems with it shedding it's tracks. The motor angle is about 45 degs. Anybody had any experience with these and stopping the tracks coming off (even on smooth hardwood floor) during a turn? I'm hoping someone has done a modification or something to keep them on, other wise this Robot may be getting itself converted to tires :-( Thanks guys Shane

Ok so i recently purchased the Rover 5 Kit from Robotsavvy by Dagu.

With Help from Oddbot i have put wires from the encoder into the Motor Controller (in the right place i think)

But i have no idea which pins go to the arduino and also where on the arduino they go to.

  Currently I am having problems with object tracking.  My current set up is a Dagu compound eye on a Dagu pan/tilt braket with 2 micro servos in it for turning.  All of that is hooked up to a picaxe 28x1 board correctly, but I run into my problem with my code.  My code kinda worked but was really jerky and will still move when there is nothing there.  Also sometimes it will go like it has a mind of its own.  I thought it was moving when there was nothing there because I made it read the two eyes on opposite sides and jus

I am in need of some advice over a robot project I plan to build. I have a small amount of experience with using an Arduino, soldering and general circuit making, but I've never used motors yet.

What I plan to do is to have a "robot arm" attached to the ceiling with a camera at the end of it. The arm need to be able to rotate the camera around and depending on some conditions tilt it at different angles.
