Robotic Bee Colony

Ro-Bot-X's picture

I was out for the weekend and it seems there was a lot of talk on this subject. It happened that I had one of my bee hives swarm and I had trouble retrieving it. However, this gave me a thought of changing the theme a bit: Robotic Bee Colony.

Online RoboCraft anyone?

You may have read my idea for a Mini Robotic Ant Farm. I just re-read it yesterday and today I had a new thought:

Unfinished Projects

myblack60impala's picture

I was looking through the Robots section on this website. I noticed a lot of posts (mostly old) of never started robot projects. These have pictures of parts, or hand drawn concept pictures, etc but the finished product never got completed for whatever reason.

MotorCityRobots.com

Myself and a local member of a hackerspace in Detroit recently started a new website devoted to robotics in Detroit. Right now the site is brand new, with really no content. So what I'm asking you to do is to sign up on the site, create a couple posts, etc just to generate some content. I'm not asking you to leave LMR, just check the site out (whats there anyways) and if you're proficient at drupal send me a PM, so you can help out the site too! Thanks.

Google plus hangout Saturady afternoon 3pm PST.

voodoobot's picture

Heya LMR folks,

I'm thinking of having a G+ hangout session tomorrow around 10am pst(I'm in California), 1pm est, UTC -7(I think).

If you want a gmail invite, send me a request by 9:45am and I'll send in invite your way and have a gmail account I can send it to.

I was thinking of just shooting the breeze, talking about bots, projects, and just general stuff.

maybe it'll be something, maybe it'll be just me some ambient noise....we'll see!  :)

Edit: modified time.

Advice on my next robotics project.

Hmm, I decided to come here on the off chance some one might be able to give me some advice.

I wouldn't say I'm an "absolute" beginner as I do have some experience with robotics, but its only been from kits, I haven't built and programmed something from scratch yet. Over the years I have collecteda great deal of items which I feel may be useful to create some form of robot, but its hard to know exactly where to start. Here are the details as follows:

Autonomous roaming using a variety of gaits
Using a

Future ideas- robots and paintball

makeitcool's picture

Well I like to paintball with sum buddies and its getting bigger all the time so I have been involving robotics and electronics in paintball /airsoft.

-http://letsmakerobots.com/node/25679 (ill try to get my robot post on that one going, almost done :] )

So Im sorta running out of ideas that are worth using and cheap enough.

For example-http://letsmakerobots.com/node/23474 i learned it was a little too expensive for me - a kid- to make and experiment.

Getting into Arduino

JoeBTheKing's picture

Well my friends, I think its time for me to enter the world of arduino.  After working on my last project (I will post it soon, its for the google science fair so I just have to finish up it's website.) I have deciced ill have a go at arduino.  The reason I came to this conclusion is I needed something that can do simple multi-tasking.  During my google science fair project (That I will post soon to LMR) I needed to do two things at once.  The first was very simple.  I just wanted it to go down and come back a little to the side of the first path down a

Canadian National Robotic Games 2010

Hello all,

I had a great time in Toronto for this years Robot games.  I managed to get 2nd place in the masters mini sumo competition with Blaster shark.  I made a new robot called Driller shark which I will post shortly in the robot section.  It didn't do that well, but all in all I had fun.  Here are the pictures.

Ordinary lunch kit?

Rom-Bot

nflodude's picture

I dismantled a cd drive from my old laptop yesterday, and found out that the plastic frame and insides were a pretty good chassis for a robot. It will have an LCD screen, use an IR sensor for not running into walls, and possibly some odds and ends here and there. Does anyone have any suggestions for some of the features that would be integrated into this robot? I am using a Picaxe 28x1.

Cluster Bots

Hi this is just a forum for any beginners who want to build Cluster Bots

My first robot..........

networkzombie's picture

So I've decided to build my first robot which not the LMR "start here" one (that one is going to be my second one) and im using this circuit- http://costaricabeam.solarbotics.net/Circuits/Vores/555%20Photovore.png . I've tried about 10 different designs for the body but its just not working. When i cover the left photocell with my hand and the other one is exposed to light the speed of the motors is the same and same with the right photocell. has anyone tried the circuit? did it work?

Psx Library and dc motors, possible power issue?

Hi everyone! First let me just say I love this site. It's an enormous wealth of information for an enthusiast like me. I have a few concerns with a project I am working on and would love a little input.

RC robots

I was wondering if there is a section here on RC robots?

I have a 'my first robot' type robot and eventually want to be able to RC it as well as make other RC robots.

Mini Robotic Ant Farm

Ro-Bot-X's picture

I have started the build of the first Drone prototype for my little ant farm project. I plan on building around 4 Drones and a Builder.

1. The Drones:

Chassis:

The Drones will be as simple as possible, using TH components, as is hard to prototype with SMD. A double sided, plated holes prototyping board will be used as the chassis. The board is 38mm x 38mm and it can get smaller only if I use a smaller battery.

FOR THOSE WHO CAN"T INVEST MUCH (LIKE ME IN INDIA)

vijayhunny's picture

 hello everybody here...!!!

Actually m from india . speaking straight, " i can't spend much but also can't live without robotics".

so please give me some advices to not to kill my love towards robotics. i m a student of electronics but here in my college we do not have such facalities for electronics students. so please guide me about how to begin and what resources to use to get over the money problem.

i really need your help.......!!!!

Hello! I was wondering if anybody could help me determine compatibility issues :(

Dear Robot enthusiasts,

Hello all!  This is my first question on here so please feel free to critique my writing style.

The BIG board!

Ok, though you would like to see what I am working on now. I am having this as a blog post  until there is something worthy of posting. It sure looks cool or what :)

Check it out everyone. We had our first Arduino class. I was excited to see how many parent & child participants showed up. We were expecting 12 total but had double that!

Here are some photos.
