This tutorial shows you How to get the RSSI of an Xbee using Arduino!
It took so much time to get this working. But know everything works fine. Using RSSI you can make many funny projects, like object detection and so on. Check out … Read more

Transmitting 2 HD-SDI video streams over wireless

Hello all, I've got a problem I've been scratching my head on for a couple days and figured I see if anyone here can help.

Let me set the scene.

You have two high definition camera's onboard a robot that have HD-SDI (or HDMI) outputs.

You need to transmit these camera feeds to a laptop wirelessly to view.

You have a small "mini-PC" computer on the robot (similar to one of these http://www.stealth.com/littlepc.htm).

RS232 Communication with MCU

So I am making my own CNC - PCB Miller. It is communicating with the computer using RS232 (UART), but in my testing, I find that I don't always get the correct characters, even at 1200baud. Does anyone have a method to suggest for error-checking an incoming data string over serial? I was thinking of doing something like this:

CPU sends data to MCU 4 times.

MCU checks to make sure the data is repeated exactly 4 times.

--If yes->send "OK" 4 times

--If no->send "NOT OK" 4 times

If CPU receives OK, queue up the next data to send

Routerbot (Without hacking the router)

I am intending to build a routerbot. This is my design idea. This is my first major robot so please comment and suggest if even the slightest urge arises.

I will call the robot flat friday.
