Driving One Stepper Motor With L293D Using Two Pins

Question: Is it correct, that when I solder the following circuit there are only two pins nessessary
from the microcontroller to the L293D to drive a unipolar stepper motor ?

Answer: Yes. That is correct.

Question: Are the two NPN transistors and the 10kOhm pull-up resistors responsible for the signal inversion?

Answer: Yes. That is correct.


V4 Stepper Driver


It's been a loooong time into WIP but it is finally there:

So what is in the picture above? I'll answer that for ya ...

RepRap Stepper Driver v1.2 and Next Gen CNC

In the picture from top-left, clockwise to bottom-left: the terminal block (24V power up to 13A), the 2 X-axis drivers, the Y-axis driver (blue heat sink), and the Z-axis driver (blue heat sink), the Arduino controller (direction x3/enable x3/step x3), and just below the terminal block there is a small 9V regulator board to shift 24V down to 9V for the Arduino.  Everything is mounted on an MDF board, and the board is mounted with baling wire.




2 more draw slides to use for the Y axis purchased from here. High quality slides with ball bearing inserts. Still have to work out how I want to mount them. They were only $15 each.. money well spent now that I can see them close up.
