LMR DAGU Contest

Results of the Mr Basic competition

O-M-G!

What started out as a good idea got complicated. Sounds like any robot-project? Well.. perhaps this is why; the contest works / not works like the robots it's driven by.

Re-capture:

DAGU first let me taste & try some of their products. Really good products, and DAGU was (and are) really polite, nice, fast responding, fair.. the kind of people that I'd like to support!

Love-voting is fashionable as well!

I am very sorry if anyone was hurt by my bad karma!

However, it helped ;)

Weekend is closing in, and we are starting to see who should win this competition.

Needless to say that everyone participating is very cool, and have contributed to the enjoyment of all of us. Seriously. Thanks for the laughs and good times following your work!

And I truly hope that everyone have had fun building, and documenting.. and that the competition and the evil in "only 3 winners" is actually in the background of the whole experience :)

More hate votes, please!

The LMR DAGU Contest is comming to an end. But everybody in here are so fu**ing nice, and that will not do.

Oh, you are so nice, your robot is so cool, I give you 5 stars, and you too, and you too.

Heck, where is the competition in that?

How can we ever find a true winner (3 true winners) when the call is so close?

What to do? Hate! Fight, mean stuff, we need the dark clouds to fill the sky in here. Remember this is about money, kill!!

Start where?Almost a full year on LMR and still no "start here" robot. That would be getting really silly. Especially with all this Mr Basic stuff going on. This … Read more

Mr. Shortage. Water Shortage

I've spent a lot of time trying to get a reasonable function out of a water spraying mechanism that could fit inside the small frame of Mr. Basic, but the only solution has been keeping the water it a bottle in avertical position. This has made Mr. Basic very prone to tilt over and land on his side during creative maneuvering. So today I saw a cheap pea-shooter with 1000 plastic pellets for $11 in a store, and it looks like Mr. Cat Squirter Now is becomming Mr. Violent.

Now if only I could get these wheels to work with the Mr. Basic original drive train.

This is one of the main part for my contribution of the LMR Dagu contest. It looks like a small camera and yes indeed it is a camera. But this camera didn't give you a video or picture output. Mhhm, than it must be defect you may think.

LMR Mr.Basic Contest

To everyone that bought a Mr Basic, here are the rules of the contest:

If you make a robot to enter the contest, make sure that you add the

LMR DAGU Contest rules anyone?

Oddbot mentioned in another post that some rules would/should be announced regarding the LMR DAGU Contest.

I thought the rules were vaguely outlined as something like:

1 Use the Mr.Basic kit.

2 make sure your robot is way cooler than the other contestants.

3 good luck.

-So, do we need any more rules? Do everybody have to use all the parts from the kit? Which partscannot me excluded? Is there an upper price limit?

LMR DAGU Contest - Ideas ... or ...

<tongue in cheek>

Just so that everyone gets a fair peek inside everyone else ideas file, I propose that all contenders in the LMR DAGU Contest post their ideas right here. Any conceptual or technical art work is encouraged. Schematics, photos, drawings, origami, whatever. Use this thread for inspiration and sharing!

After all, we are all going for the same goal, aren't we?!?!? Or are we....

Hi dear fellow robot builders, members of LMR.

As I am sure you know, OddBot has made us some cool contact with Jack from China, the guy behind DAGU Electronics.

Now I also had some talks with Jack himself regarding a production of some of my stuff (Thanks Odd).
